If I could go back to the beginning of my pipe smoking days I would have kept those empty tobacco pouches I threw away. I would have a nice collection now. They probably wouldn't be worth anything, but some of them were really pretty...I guess I should have also kept those baseball cards I had in the fifties.

Thought you were gonna talk about zipper vs. Rollup. OK, wrong on my part.

I've been boxing up tins and pouches after removing the tobacco that do not yet have huge warnings on them. Its not so much that I think they'll ever be worth anything but its something I can say "This is how they used to look."

I keep my tins in a box in the closet. Why? Because I always say I can use em for something. Truth is, I never will, but i just cant let them go.
Comics and baseball cards: they got "lost" while moving after my first divorce.

Comics and baseball cards: they got "lost" while moving after my first divorce. I am with ya, I am waiting on a cool idea to hit me on how to display them. The flat tins I may just screw into the wall of the garage, my man cave. But not sure about the cat food style tins. So I will just keep them in the box until I am ready to display just how much money I have spent on this hobby lol

All my pouches are generic ones that tell me I'm going to die in horrible ways. I'm happy to dispose of them.

I cut out parts of the pouch and use them for labels for my tobacco jars.

Leather ones seem nice.... YOUBETCHA......I still use one I purchased back in ‘72. That’s when the proper material was used inside the pouch that kept the tobacco from drying fast.

I am halfway through a 1980s pouch of Gallahers Rich Dark Honeydew. Do you want the empty pouch when it is gone? I will just toss it otherwise.
