This is my first tobacco review, and, to be fair, it's not really a review; these are just some thoughts as I smoke it for the first time (prob not a good idea). Some people have compared this to Dunhill Nightcap. I've never had Nightcap but I do have a tin of Early Morning Pipe. The latakia is front and centre in this blend; there's no doubt about that. However, it doesn't overpower the other flavour I can detect. I haven't a clue what that is, but as I go further down the bowl, the latakia gives way to something else... Like a smoother, rosted nut taste. It's a pleasant smoke and puts hairs on my chest at the start of the bowl, but then adds some conditioner to those hairs as I move through the bowl. I like that it is a more complex taste than other tobaccos (and EMP). It's not too wet out of the tin and packs with no fuss. It's freakin' freezing in my garage, but this blend accompanies the cold well, like a bowl of hot soup. I can picture myself smoking this in a log cabin in a snowy forest with some freshly baked bread and a bowl of Irish stew. I like it. don, you were right.

I have a few tins in my cellar but I have not yet tried it. They are all Cyprian latakia and not Syrian though. Glad to hear you like it and by your review I am sure I will enjoy it.

That's interesting. Here's the quote from the website... I thought that Syrian latakia might have been hard to get, so maybe it is Cyprian. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

From what I have read and heard is that when it was known that Syrian was going away they switched to using Cyprian and that the original tin says Syrian and the new tins just say latakia.

Paddy, glad your enjoying the blend. Next time take a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate with you when it’s freezing outside. I’d take a thermos full👍👍
