I read last night that our government has issued a directive to all phone companies that within the next year they are to figure out a way to block Robo Calls..They say that this year there will be over 5 billion of them and they must be stopped..I sure hope so.

So sick of them. It's to the point that if I get a call on my cell phone and I don't k ow the number then I don't answer. Hell, the last week I was getting texts to make sure to vote.

I hope it's true... I usually just hang up... if it's an actual human, I give them a hearty "f*** y**" and then hang up. The whole thing is getting out of hand. I keep the ringers of my land-line and mobile turned off.

If it’s a server ROBO call I’ll ping it for 24 hours plus....I’m removed from the list PDQ. If it’s a “ live “ person I speak in “ foreign tongue “.....and I don’t mean changing languages.....it works👍

I never answer my phones. I let the voice mail get it and then either jump in or call back. If someone doesn't leave a message for me I can safely assume they don't want to talk to me that much. Answering machines and voice mail have reversed an injustice promulgated all the way back with Alexander Graham Bell, that who ever makes my phone ring is more important than anything i am doing at that moment. That anyone can usurp my agenda. OTOH it was depressing what I learned with my first answering machine, that Valarie Bertonelli was not calling me when i was out of the house either.  |

basic cell phone never turned on. I dunno the # of it (writ down on piece of scrap paper in desk drawer. Seldom get robocalls but when do, tell 'em my hearing aid is out for repair). Telemarketers? haven't got one in long time. Here's a classic way to deal with that issue if......
Have used variations of that one when really wound up & pissed!

I never answer non-caller I.D. calls. If they don't leave a voice mail or if they leave one with a droning robocall pitch, then I block them. My carrier allows me to block calling numbers and even texting numbers. Amen to that directive and good luck with that. |

Have you had the call where it is supposed to be the IRS and there is a warrant for your arrest? That one is a treat. It is too bad that it is a recording or I would have a little fun with that caller.

Same with above video of Mabe & the telemarketer, just black blank. I use WIN7 as op system. Has not happened before. I went to all the "choices" but none restore the above. thanx for question. last year had our techie install "Chrome" when returned the modem from long needed cleanout. He stayed & watch me try to do a copy/paste but.......whoa, no line at the top where there's a web address to do same. He immediately dumped the thing & back to IE cause it works fine for what we do. And turned on computer this a.m. & seems to work fine now.
heh heh....more awesome raves to prankster TomMabe. Guy's demented but brilliant + always clean comedy!

I kind of feel sorry for Robo. What did he or she ever do to any of us outside offering political advice, medical instruments, insurance, Viagra etc for free or at the very least a healthy discount.
What about Robo's philanthropic adventures? From his request to help Nigerian millionaires to housing our furry friends, this guy is everywhere promoting good will to mankind! Truly can anything be more pleasant than hearing a tape recorded or digitized message promising a better world?
I will never forget when Robo introduced me to an IRS agent. Robo surely helped me that time, as I avoided prosecution by sending the IRS 5000 dollars through a wire transfer. Luckily the Nigerian millionaire will be sending my first check soon,that will not only cover my expenses in Nigeria but include my bonus for helping him. A bonus that will easily cover the IRS bill.
