Basically I've avoided this tobacco because I thought it was an aromatic, I have read that it is heavy Latakia which I like. My question is with the fruity notes and spices would someone consider this tobacco to be an aromatic?

Jack, it’s not an aromatic, it’s in the Balkan family of tobacco’s. It’s pretty darn good 👌👍👍

Oh, yeah, Pete...you gonna love this tobacco. It, an Bengal Slices, are my two favorites right behind Arango Balkan Supreme...or maybe they are in front...either way all three are on my hit parade.

You will love it no doubt. When Mississippi River really caught on I actually preferred Plum Pudding. So delicious and non aromatic.

It appears that it's popularity is gaining as my B&M can't seem to get it in as its been back ordered for awhile now.

It's good. I need to try it again. Haven't had it in a while.

Strange name for a non-aromatic. Maybe it's a marketing ploy to win the aromatic lovers over to the dark side.

It's good stuff. There is a bit of black cavendish in it, which I think somehow makes it creamier and fuller than a typical Balkan. The perique spices it a bit. It's in Balkan territory for sure, but it's very much its own beast.

I've only had Plum Pudding Special Reserve and from what I've read some feel its only slightly better, some feel it's certainly better and others think its almost exactly the same. Many others feel Plum Pudding as is, is the better version.
While the Special Reserve version is new to me, I've put it through many bowls and from the very first bowl it has been great for my taste. I can only hope for another sale one day so that I may really load up on it. If not, based on all that I have read, Plum Pudding without being "Special Reserve" is one I will have to cellar.

I have tins of both, and there is definarely a difference. Funny thing is, I’m not sure which one I like best. I smoke 3-4 bowls of one, then switch. I guess I like the Select better, but if it is all you smoke, you don’t realize how good it is. Kinda like eating steak every meal.

PP is not an aro. I prefer the Special Reserve version, but both are excellent blends.

I may have had a bad tin then because the one that I smoked through last year tasted entirely of plastic and left a funky after taste in my mouth. I tried someone elses who had a tine from around the same time frame and the same thing. So either I am allergic to it (not likely I know) or it just sits horribly on my palate.
