This is the first English I've tried, and the batch in sampling has 5 years of age to smooth the edges. What can I say? Its great! Was put off by the smell but the taste is quite nice. Being more of a burley kind of guy, this stuff has impressed me. I just had a pipe but I'm ready fer another, anybody else have any thoughts on this blend?

I've heard good reports about it, but that's one that's not available in the UK.

WhiteKnight is more of a Balkan but theres a shadow when it comes to Balkan vs English. Theres been a lot written on this both opinions and technical aspects. Personally I find both good in what makes them different but also the same. Maybe below will open some doors for other blends to try. WhiteKnight is great and in the same series is BlackHouse and its great too. Shares many attributes that make WhiteKnight great but has some of its own things going on so that BlackHouse is all its own and great on another level. Plum Pudding Special Reserve has recently been added to a favorite of mine. Its smooth, mellow and all around amazing. Having only recently tried it, I wish I knew the first bowl would have hooked me as it has because I would have loaded up on a recent sale. Each bowl since has been pure pleasure. Sutliff has two english blends I really enjoy, Old Proffesor and Aromatic English. The Proffesor is more heavy and smokey but still light when smoked while Aromatic is really light and easily enjoyed on a hot summer day. At least for me as I like blends on the lighter side in hot weather. Presbyterian is another amazing blend and hands down one of my top favorites. Not too heavy but not too light, at least in my opinion. It's a good middle ground English. The last one on my list is Russ Ouelette's Fiddkesticks. Smokey tin note yet smokes lighter and smoother than expected. I have many more in my cellar but either I find them just OK and once finished, have no plans to stock up more or I'm still on the fence about. There are still many I havent tried as well. In my opinion, if WhiteKnight is your first and its got age on it, you certainly arent starting from the bottom.

If White knight was sold in bulk, I'd buy lbs and lbs of it.
