Looking through a 1921 Civic catalogue I spied the brand Steels one of their lowest priced pipes. A quick look on ebat shows a Steels Pat made in France they were so proud they put number on the pipe. Then another pipe who the seller claims is a Comoy with a whole drilled straight on through and one of those cool brass inserts so the moisture drains out. The other brand of interest is the Imperial I will let you go there on your own. Then they show a Torino but I was too lazy to look at pictures of Ford exhaust systems. Take note the silver ferrule sell for less than the ones without it. Something about lipstick on a pig comes to mind. Here is your link enjoy. www.pipearchive.co.uk/pdfs/Briar/Adler/Civic%20Company%201921%20Trade%20List.pdf

Interesting that the prices are per dozen.

That is a fun read. Thanks for posting. I have a Civic Canadian but no idea of its age. Like most of the GBD line it's difficult to determine.

Interesting that the prices are per dozen. It's a catalogue for retailers. The individual pipe pricing is the MSRP. The per dozen price is the price the retailer pays, shipping included.

this is very interesting from a research perspective. the "E.P." mount was a desirable feature at the time apparently. good to know as i always assumed that EP pipes were from the 50s onward (for no reason in particular)...
[i must ad by way of edit: these types of catalogs are invaluable for the information they give on sub-brands, yes, those mysterious letters everyone's searching for on pipe forums since time immemorial, for which there would otherwise be no information]

I thought the same thing about the insert on heel for some reason I thought it was a 50-60s gimmick.

That showcase on the last page caught my eye...pretty cool! And the cased sets do not do justice to how they looked at the time, I imagine.
