Anyone have any info on grades of Nording pipes ?

...as I understand it, the highest grade Nording is a "20"...but I'm no expert...

I think you'll get some help on this shortly. It's a lovely pipe. How does it smoke? Big bowl, thick walls, open airway, smokes great.

...it's a beautiful pipe... very fond of the Danish Freehands... they understand that a wide-open draw is one of the keys to a fine pipe...

20 is Nordings highest grade. I dont think they start at grade 1. I havent read up on them in some time.

...it's a beautiful pipe... very fond of the Danish Freehands... they understand that a wide-open draw is one of the keys to a fine pipe... Me too, the first pipe I purchased for myself was a Nording Freehand. Still love it

Nørding has used at least 3 grading scales over the years:
Left to right is Low to High for each: F, A, B, C, D, Extra 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 10, 11, ..., 20
I’ve never seen a dating guide based on which grade scale was used. 10 to 20 is the one currently used. I have an A and a B which I bought new in the 1990s.

That a very nice looking pipe. Years ago I was told Nording pipes had a tendency to smoke wet. Since then I’ve avoided them. Maybe that was an error on my part. He does turn out some beautiful pipes.
