Justin has never had any issues with posting threads from other sites here. Quite the contrary, to his credit he's defended the practice on several occasions in my time here. This may be worth a read: pipesmokersdens.com/threads/baki-meerschaum-availabilty.3184/The only three meers I'd recommend are Baki, Altinok and IMP. Looks like Baki is history in the US after existing supply expires. Second, JMHO but the only pipes I'd recommend to somebody just getting started would be top shelf meers and MM cobs. Meers are low maintenance, no break in period required, no ghosts a Q-tip won't fix, purist way to sample new tobacco and top shelf meers can be had for less than $300 new, even less for estates. Good meers last forever unless you have a dumb arse attack and drop one on concrete. That one hurts from experience. A few combined with cobs and a couple briars is all that's required for a rock solid rotation with only a dozen pipes. It might be a good time to ask for one this Christmas.

My IMP is an amazing pipe. I am content with IMP and hope to get another someday.

Mark ^^^^^^^^ interesting reading all the threads about Baki Meers, it’s a darn shame, but inevitable. Thanks for posting 👍

The Chinese boom can't last forever. I'm sure we'll see Baki pipes back sooner than later

The Chinese boom can't last forever. I'm sure we'll see Baki pipes back sooner than later I'm not so sure we will. Not to sound morbid. And I wish Fikri Baki many years of health and happiness. BUT, the Chinese boom need not last forever to prevent new Baki meers from showing up again in the U.S. The boom only needs to last longer than Fikri Baki. No telling when F. Baki passes or retires. He's already been at this for decades.

I’d add Andreas Bauer of Austria to the list, they have some beautiful pipes and unless they are farming them out I can’t imagine you’ll unsatisfied. banjo

Oh, my fax to Santa has already gone out asking for one. I told him to check out the IMP's at SP.

Yanik Skull being held with a Skeleton Hand. banjo oh wow. I don't normally take to carved pipes (while I do appreciate the talent that goes into the carving), but that is stunning. I'm surprised it doesn't have a bamboo shank 😉. Actually, there are some bamboo shanks that I've seen that have 'knuckles' that are close together that make them look like skeleton fingers. That would look fantastic with that pipe. Like this one of yours...
