I stopped by an antique store in Brunswick GA and found a few pipes. I tried to get them for 20 bucks a pipe, but ended up giving $100 for all four. The top three are unsmoked. The bottom is in pretty good shape. Not the best picture, but here they are. 1. Stanwell Colonial shape 13 2. Chapus Comoy Chacom 860 3. Wessex Bravo 4. Butz Choquin 1604 (used) I think I did all right. Now I can't decide which to smoke first...

Just lucky. I had stopped at this place about a year ago and got a couple of nice unsmoked Stanwell Horns for about 25 each. They had box full of unsmoked pipes, mostly Crowns, I think. I think they bought out a shop that closed up.. I was in the area again and thought I'd see it they had anything I might be interested in. They brought out the box and it was about empty. I got the Wessex out of it. The others were on a table. The lady said she'd take 150 for the 4 pipes, I told her I was thinking more like 20 bucks each. We settled on 100. I'm pretty happy with the deal. I got the feeling she wasn't as happy as I was.

You did good, Jim. About the only thing I have ever walked out of an antique shop with is a snoot full of dust.

The guy at the place I went to last week said that they used to get a lot of pipes, but they are seeing fewer these days. I suspect people are selling grandpa's collection on e-bay rather than getting rid of the entire lot to an antique shop.

I'm waiting for grandma, who knows nothing about ebay, to visit my local antique shop with a load of pipes, and for the antique shop owner to be unaware of ebay too. Wishful thinking on my part, methinks.

I think you did very well. You’ve got yourself some great looking pipes at a bargain.
