As I'm sure you know The USA is pretty big on parades. The town I live in has several each year..As I've gotten older though they have become a bit less exciting than they once were. Each year though I watch The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.I especially like the end when Santa shows up.It kicks off the Christmas Season. It's my favorite time of year.I don't spend as much money as I did back when I was working, but I try to make as many folks as I can feel a bit of happiness, and make them know that I love them. The Christmas Spirit is something I try to have all year. It's the way I think folks should treat each other...I just really love Christmas.

Wow! What a pleasant post. You’re a good person. I watched the parade and it is fun when Santa arrives.

I try not to watch much TV, if at all. So I miss the parades and other festivities...do get to talk to friends on the phone and that is about all I care to have any interaction with.

Everything here I agree with. Yesterday I was smoking a bowl of C&D Jolly Old St. Nicholas watching the last half hour of the parade. Yes, I timed it it that way so that the two went together that way. Merry Christmas!

I have missed watching a few Super Bowls but I never miss watching the Macys Parade. True Story the wife and I watched it on TV and never left the lazy boys while the Daughter had to work at the mall selling sunglasses until midnight then back to work this morning at 8am. We dropped her off a Thanks Giving dinner off at the mall and I sat out in the truck and waited for momma. I saw I was not the only one dropping off food to someone working in sales. The ride home we were filled with amazement of the people at Besty Buy, Target and Wally World trying to convert cash into tidings of comfort and joy. Safe at home we enjoyed a piece of See's candy and gave thanks to pantry full of food and home full of love next to our tiny Christmas tree. oldielyrics.com/christmas/god_rest_ye_merry_gentlemen.html

I go out of my way to make sure that I have everything I need prior to Thanksgiving, as I do not want to contribute to the need for workers, even though I know that my actions will not affect it at all. JC Penney's was running a commercial where a woman runs away from the Thanksgiving table because Penney's was going to be open at that time...I looked at my wife and said that if that happened in our household, I would hold the door open and say good riddance.
