I recently won the bidding on ebay for this "PETERSON K&P 209 LONDON MADE - 1949". That guy in Philly shipped it to me in record time - the USPS parcel acceptance is listed in the tracking info as 1:49 a.m. on November 23! And I think that we're in the same time zone! I love the older Petes, and this one really caressed my eye. The 1949 date puts it right on the cusp of pre- and post-Republic, but I don't know a lot about dating Petes. Yes, secondhandsmoker never ceases to amaze me. His lineup right now (last time I looked) is jawdropping. And I still can't get over that USPS accepted the parcel for shipping in the wee hours that very night!! The guy's connections as you put it, must have a tinge of the supernatural, or I don't know what.
And John, aww, don't be jealous young man. When I was your age all my pipes were crap and my pipesmoking knowledge went right along with them. I'm jealous that I didn't have the internet back then. All that time lost.... Must make up for it now while the sun still shines on me.
