Hello! I was looking around and I've found a pipe that looks nice, interesting. I tried to find more info about the shape and model but I can't find anything. Any idea? In the shop appears with the reference 5-001 Thank you Juan

Any other markings on the pipe itself?

An old Dunhill shape chart I looked at has a #721 the call Scandinavian Bulldog. Looks very close the pipe above. www.pipepages.com/dpsc8.htm

I'm guessing that it's a pretty rare shape. I've never seen it before now.

I'd guess it's stamped "Collection". These are usually fairly unique freehand shaped pipes. I call that shape a Tulp. It looks like nod to an old Pipe Dan shape.

Is indeed a puzzle. The four digit code 5001 is supposed to mean: 5 - bowl size 0 - tapered mouthpiece 01 - apple shape
Info about Dunhill's four digit codes at pipephil.eu

OK, some one has to ask: Chinese knock-off? Which shop is selling this Juan?

Why not just go the source and ask Dunhill if it is one of their's??

Why not just go the source and ask Dunhill if it is one of their's?? That will be the easiest ways to know. I did contact know with one of the shops that have the pipe, I will ask them, let's see what they say about it. After that I'll contact Dunhill and see. The pipe looks nice, I like it. If it's original... new pipe coming home I guess.

So, our friend Dean, a member here, had a pipe that was exactly the same shape, only it was a black blast. It was labeled as a "Quaint" though no particular shape attached to it.
It is on the rare side in the Dunhill lineup from my understanding. He put his up for sale through Smokingpipes.com and it went VERY fast.

Hello, Justin! Yes, I think that's right. Should be a Quaint Dunhill. I was checking the website you said and found this description: Some Quaint shapes we see once, and only once. Others, while still rare, do crop up again every now and then. This is one of the latter sort, and I'm rather happy about that; as it turns out combining the Zulu and the Rhodesian makes for a neat and well-balanced design. In this particular Ruby Bark's case, there's also the bonus of a very nice, tight ring grain pattern.
Belongs to this pipe
I will call the shop right now and ask if they have the pipe in stock... If anyone interested, I've found three shops that have at least one in stock (have to double check) Cheers * Here the same pipe I was talking about but in black color as Justin said www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/estate/england/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=179794And exactly the same 😉 m.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/dunhill/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=54528

Ok! So I placed the order, 325€ with delivery. I think is not a bad price, what do you think? Let's see when I'll receive it if will look as nice as in photos. Two pipes at home and the third at the end of this week. I will try not to buy more pipes... I think I'm well served. I think that you can smoke anything in any pipe, but some people says that no. Some people are afraid about ghosting. What do you think? Cheers!

Seems like a good price to me. Regularly see new Dunhill's run $400 or more.
