ive bought 50g of Clan Original from my local Sainsburys supermarket. It's priced at£14.60 for the 50g.
it was a bit of a battle with the cashier...
'Do you have Amphora pipe tobacco ?' 'What?' 'Amphora.'
ok,this could be the old Ulster accent being a problem...
'What pipe tobaccos do you have?' 'What is pipe?'
John starts miming smoking a pipe, then frantically gesturing it's not vaping!
Anyway...
Just had the first bowl,in my MM Danish Spindle
I'm pretty impressed. Easy to light(didn't need a tamping light),mild easy flavour. Didn't burn hot,and I'd no tongue bite. It does smoke through quickly, though, even without lots of puffing.
Its not as rich or as rounded as the other tobaccos I've tried, and has a fairly negligible nicotine hit. Equally,it's not overpowering either, and I'd have been happy to repackage a second bowl right away.
So,on the plus side,it's easily available, and no shipping costs or delays. It's a quick, mild smoke, ideal for a quick light up.
On the downside,it's mild if you're used to Lakatia and the like, nor is it heavily laced with toppings

I've never seen an otc tobacco over here that has latakia in it.
I rarely see it over in Northern Ireland.
Still, you're not paying shipping.
And nice review.

I smoked Clan many years ago. To me, it was similar to Flying Dutchman. I liked the aroma but the shag cut burned very fast and hot in every pipe.

I'm having my first smoke of the morning, and I've gone for Clan in my Royal briar.
Now,it was a fairly sleepless night,I've been up early, and I napped on the train into London.
Clan is proving perfect. Mild flavour, enjoyable without being overwhelming, think Earl Grey tea over builders tea, again,so easy to light. I'm thinking this might be a great beginners tobacco?

I think I might check out supervalu round the corner and see if it has some.
