Thank you so very much for this information. I imagine it's because they deal with people.

To be fair to McDonald's, if it is there, it is on every doorknob, every pin pad, every screen...of course immediately after touching the screen, you are eating in the case of McDonalds...If their staff is cleaning the screens regularly, it really isn't their fault...Just my opinion.
I wouldn't mind a Scarlet "S" branded on losers that are to lazy to wash their hands after using the restrooms...I immediately think "scumbag", when I see someone leaving a restroom without washing their hands.

My favorite hotdog joint has a sign in the bathroom that says: "Attention employees. Please wash hands after taking a dump." Of course the only employee is the owner/proprietor.

💩 like that has been going on for years at many fast food restaurants. A few years back there was a big issue at Chuck E Cheese kids restaurant.

I don't eat at McDonalds so I'm in the clear. If I ever do go there though it will be the drive-through.

Burger King was one of my pups favorite place to get burgers and chicken nuggets...he was a rescue and apparently had eaten those foods before being rescued from the mean streets.

Going out into public is dangerous for the immunocompromised. However, for most of us, it's just a little extra "flavoring".

Unless you keep your hands dipped in hand sanitizer at all times, or dont touch anything at all... you're carrying it too.
Think about this... all of the people that use the rest room and dont wash their hands have to open the door right? And then the guy that washes his hands goes right behind him and opens the same door, not even thinking about it...
I, for one, always use a paper towel to open the bathroom door in a public place before leaving. Just a habit of mine since I was young. If all they have are the air dryers, I kick the door open. If it's a pull door I use toilet paper to open it.
I'm weird about my hands being clean, i always have been. Kind of strange considering what I do for a living...

I refuse to use the fecal atomizer to dry my hands. Disgusting contraptions!

trailboss Thanks for sharing this news story with us Charlie. From reading the article, it appears that possibly employee's at some nearby hospital(s), or possibly clinics/labs may not be washing their hands prior to walking over to their local McDonalds to eat. The fecal residue could also come from non-medical personnel too. Nonetheless, I never use the Kiosks for that reason. I noticed the spokesperson for McDonalds came out with their "Cover our Arse" statement. That may be true, and it may be in the wee hours of the early morning time too when this alleged sanitizing is performed. Does MickyD' have a standard sanitation practice in writing for all of their Corporate and Franchise stores to follow? If so, exactly how many times per day is a flunky worker suppose to sanitize each Kiosk station (because each station has a screen on each side)? Does the sanitization just include the screen or the whole station itself? I deplore spokespersons (or spinmeisters). Well, if that is what a sampling has performed in the UK, I wonder what it would be like here in the Colonies? Or other places that have MickyD' or utilize the kiosk type systems. You have to think that now a day, we are using a kiosk system in our supermarkets and big box stores for checking out. How many of these businesses have standard sanitation practices in writing that they follow? Who knows. Just keep washing your hands folks

From a microbial level, if people knew what they ingested on a daily basis they would probably live inside a bubble. Precautions are good in general and hygiene is always welcome in a civilized society but we eat brown mud every day. Smoking a good pipe sanitizes one on both the inside and out.

I don't eat at McDonalds so I'm in the clear. If I ever do go there though it will be the drive-through. Same here, definitely not a McDonald’s person. Don’t care for farm raised mealworms in my hamburgers! Plus, restaurants that cater to children your bound to find “ booger’s & faecal matter “ in the most unexpected places. PS I don’t touch any handle or door knob without a piece of paper towel in hand when out in any restaurant.

This is another reason for dealing with people face to face. I walked into a McDonald’s the other day for a coffee. I went to the counter to order my coffee but was told all orders are submitted through a kiosk. So’... I got angry,’made a comment about the ills of the world and walked out. All was well.

Never use them. I wonder whether the problem ends with those order stands, though.

i bet tobacco has no bacteria in it If it does, that bacteria will be nervous. Tobacco solution is used as an insecticide on plants.

Also, some great places have a foot plate that you can use to open bathroom door. Such a simple yet brilliant invention.

Very true, but wouldn’t it make more sense to put that darn foot plate on the inside bottom portion of the door so nobody gets their 💩 all over the door handle👍 Next time you eat out at any restaurant make sure you carry a small pocket flashlight. Just take a good look what’s under the table your eating your meal on......you’ll never eat out again.....” I GARONTEE “!!!

Can’t tell you the last time I noticed or used a kick plate to get out of a bathroom. That should be a “ MUST “ Board of Health rule that needs to be set into their standards.
