Friday the 30th i had cataract removal on my left eye. There were some minor complications, about 2% of the cataract fell into the eye itself .Upon review the retinal surgeon suggested waiting to determine if it would be an actual problem. So keep praying that it will not.I'm still learning to see from that side again,it's only been blind just over 3 years. But it is improving vastly.I can already see better with it than my right eye.Wed I go in to have the sutures removed.Funny,my wife hid all my shoes though, says I'm not supposed to bend over.Anywho, thanks for your prayers and support, And Merry Christmas ! Matthew Still the UGLY one

Funny, I was thinking of you the other day, wondering how the surgery went.
I'm glad it has made an improvement. I hope the bit that fell into your eye won't be a problem.
Thanks for the update. I hope the forum is slightly easier to navigate for you now.

Matthew--I have no personal experience with cataract removal, but my sister and one of my best friends had the procedure and they both said the same thing--I wish I had done this years ago. Wishing you the best......

Was going to have Cataract surgery in August the staff in the clinic decided to play games and cause undue physical pain. The vision in my left eye has deteriorated since then. Don't know when or if my eye will be done.
Wish you heal and regain your vision.

Glad to hear that things are improving, we will pray that the dropped piece does not cause any complications.
It will be interesting to hear how you describe the difference between before and after...I am guessing that it is like having a milky film removed from the eye.

john_r try to get it done quickly, the longer it goes on the more likely to have issues. For me the left eye was like looking thru wax paper,I could see shadows and movement but no shapes.I was down to wearing a patch over my left eye to force my right to focus. And even with that I had to use a tube to focus on the screen to read anything, that's with the page zoomed 175% and being about six inches away from it. So a question for you learned men and Lady, That little fella in the top right corner of the page,When did he grow a beard?

Was going to have Cataract surgery in August the staff in the clinic decided to play games and cause undue physical pain. The vision in my left eye has deteriorated since then. Don't know when or if my eye will be done. Wish you heal and regain your vision. I have watched several cataract surgeries and they were all totally painless. Try a different doctor.

I can't say mine was totally painless, but numbing agents don't always work well.On the other hand pain medication like demerol can put me out for days at a time.I will say that was completely at ease with the doctor and surgical team,so I will definitely be going back to them when I can afford the other eye.

I hope and pray for a speedy recovery with no issues. I remember my dad, who recently had a cataract removed, saying how yellow things were before the surgery. I will be there one day I am sure.

Your sight definitely should not be worse and the pain you describe was totally unnecessary! All the best to you.
