All dogs go to heaven, John. Hopefully, you and I make it there, too. Sympathies from me (and Trixie, Bunny, Mimi, and Billy).

I know your pain all too well. I have better relationships with animals that enter my life than I do people. I've cried and grieved over losing my little family members numerous times through the years. Be it one of my furry companions or one of my iguanas. They hold a special place in our hearts and they take that piece with them when they go.
I offer my sympathy and condolences through your rough time. We are all here for you.

I've been there and Im not going to say it gets better or any of the ussual words. We all feel things differently. All I can say is that I am sorry and that Im sure many feel the same as me when I say we are here for you. If you need to express yourself, do it. We're a pipe family here. John, For those of us who live and love our little furry critters we know your loss. My sincere condolences brother.

Mods if this offends any one, delete itAs most of you know I don't post personal thoughts, this is the one exception I will allow myself to do.Sitting here trying to smoke a bowl Star of the East Gold in my Watson Meer. As I sit here I feel all alone and a hole in my essence. I know what caused the hole but didn't think it would disturb me this much. The cause was the passing of small creature that would give me crap if I left her to long. She had to know where I was all the time. The scratching of the ears, back and belly was a daily must. This little creature was my unconditional friend and companion. This morning I had to bury her after her passing during the night Right with you Brother. I had a cat and that's as far as I can go with this

I can't add anything to what's been said; I'm also sorry for your loss and know the feeling too well. You can be proud you gave your friend a happy life.

They are wonderful "people" to have in our lives...never demanding that they be taken to the store, or running up the credit card (with the exception of the vet bills), or telling us they will be home early and then showing up at 2AM.
Yup, they are wonderful little people, who need your love, too.

Sorry for your loss. We lose a friend and say no more pets every time and every time we end up rescuing a new dog or cat.
Definition of unconditional love? Lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car. After and hour, open the trunk and see which one is happy to see you.

It is the worst thing about owning a pet is saying goodbye. We had a cat for 21 years and had to put her down. Another cat we took in the owner said she had all the shots. Well apparently not because she got leukemia and had to put her down. Another cat got a blood clot and couldn't move her back legs. Again had to put her down. First dog we had when we got married was a rescue pup. Said it was cocker and lab. Nope. He got big, real big. Pyrenees and Lab mix. The gentle giant. He got cancer at 12 and we had to put him down. He was a great dog. Said no more after that too. Then someone abandoned a border collie. I took her home and gave her a bath. Smart, fully trained. Six week later we were rewarded with 8 puppies from 5 fathers. Apparently we rescued the town slut. There was cocker, black lab, rot, chocolate lab, husky mixes in the litter. We found homes for all of them, including the mother, and kept the runt. He is an awesome dog. The only dog I know that likes to wear jingle bells. He gets mad when I take them off.

Sure understand how you feel. I buried many canine pals over the years. Their memory lives with me still. All I can say is go to animal shelter and find another one who needs a human for a friend. The best way to move on is to find another pal.

Sorry to hear this, John. It's by far the toughest part of having them. We buried our frog, Chubby, just yesterday after over 10 years of having him around.
