While I have a large collection of pipes, I find myself only smoking the handmades lately, with the occasional cob.
How goes it with you folks?

I'd say that lately it's been 60% Cobs, 30% handmade and 10% factory. That's a hefty decrease down from 90% Cobs!

Since I stained and glazed all of my cobs...I find myself smoking them more than the briars or meers that I have. I guess it is because I had a hand in making them special to me....as a result the others have suffered not being smoked.

I don't have any hand made pipes so for me it's about 80% cob, 20% factory.
Wait a second... If I screw the bowl on my falcon myself, does that make it hand made?

Meers , or unfinished briar, or cobs. Last year or so been really liking the changing the color of what I am smoking. Watching it develop with each smoke.

Probably is about 40% factory, 40% hand mades and 20% cobs for me. That is about the ratio of what I own that gets smoked.

It's about 50/50 cobs and factory. I mostly smokes cobs while working or in the garage and the factories when kicking back and relaxing. I don't have any handmade yet but am sure I'll have one before long.

Handmade about 40%, factory about 30% and Cobs at 30%. In the past 2 years I’ve been smoking more Cobs than prior, because how the Cobs have been kiln dried. They last longer, smoke smooth and actually give a superb smoke👌👍👍. I’m really enjoying the heck out of those MM Country Gentleman bowls!!!

80% handmade, since I've been making them. Otherwise, a cob, or a factory pipe. I almost always smoke aros in a couple select factory pipes.

I just try to work my way down the racks, so that none of my pipes feel unloved.

Gotta admit, since I have a bunch of my own makes, my factory pipes are mostly ignored, except for a few of my Jarls.

Since most of my Meers are carved I would have to say Briar, Meers then Cobs. I only have on artisan briar I rarely smoke it.

Since I only have 2 pipes that you folks would call "handmade" out of my 100+ pipes I guess I'd have to say 99% factory with 1% "handmade"! D on't know how to define my 3 Charatan Executives which were made by hand in the Charatan factory ?

I'm running about 80% factory-made briars, 10% cobs, and 10% meerschaum these days. I do have some hand-made ones but don't have any out in the rotation right now.

Out of my small universe of 27 pipes, the distribution is: 18% cobs 11% handmade briars 4% meer 67% factory briar
I'm not sure if that represents my smoking rotation, but it is somewhere close. None of them is out of the rotation.
Edit: Just remembered 2 more factory pipes in the accumulation - so it's 29 total, and the percentages shift a little. I'm hiding them from myself, apparently.

I only have one handmade and Cramptholomew made it. Its seen a lot of english blends. Everything else is factory from basic briar, cobs and Falcon.

I have about 55% handmade, 25% factory (mostly Stanwells and Savinellis, although some Savs are among the handmades), 15% cobs and 5% meers.

I finally decided to get a handmade briar pipe. I’m enjoying the process of looking over various makers work now. Plan to place an order after the first of the year.
I probably smoke cobs (with Forever stems or customized versions) 70% of the time. Cobs provide such an easy, good smoke. - - 20% factory briars, and maybe 10% clays.

About 50% factory, 30% meers, 20% hand made, 0% cobs. Oh, we are gonna have to change that. Heh. I do own three or four cobs, just don't smoke 'em. I try to never say never, but after 50 years since my first cob....I have a wee bit of doubt. As to owning, I'd say about 80% factory, 8 % meers, 7% handmade, 4 % cobs, 1% antique and unsmokable.

I don't have any hand made or Meers so I smoke factory and cobs. The ratio depends on what is going on a particular day. I tend to grab a cob when I am working in the yard or around the house and when I am making short trips in the car. I smoke briars more often when I have time to kick back and relax. I *guess* it probably works out to about 60% cobs maybe more, but I seem to be grabbing a briar a bit more often when I hop in the car, so who knows?

Guess I didn't actually answer the question...50% handmade (Briar Spirit Pipes), 30% factory, 15% cobs and 5% meers. Don't smoke the meers as often as I should...guess I am gonna have to change that...they are getting dusty.
