Those on TV who have computers that predict the weather say that around midnight tonight it's going to start snowing here in my neck of the woods.(Western N.Carolina) When it stops there could be around 9 inches on the ground.Even more in the mountains. We hardly ever get that much snow here. When we do everything shuts down for a couple days.So today everyone is making a mad dash to the stores.By the end of the day shelves will be empty.I just hope I don't lose electricity. If I do I will see you on the other side.

Larry, losing electricity rarely results in such dire circumstances. Hopefully you will get lucky like us... all week long we were told Thursday and Friday we’re going to be rainy... one very light rain overnite and we had a few mists is all. I do like watching the weather though, in our market we have some good looking ladies that give the reports... I miss most of what they are saying.

If we got 9 inches in Phoenix, we would be eligible for federal aid, the Red Cross, etc...

We got 9 inches of rain last night. Creeks are over the banks, the river is rising, and some nearby neighborhoods are being evacuated. I think this would translate into a LOT of snow.

Best of luck and stay safe.
The snow has missed us again here.

Appears Louisville MSA will miss this one but I'd rather have 12" snow than 1" ice. Hope everybody in the path of this one fairs well.

The most snow we have seen her in central New Mexico is what I am seeing on BriarPatch website. We did get a dusting but that is it.

Keep safe guys. If we get 2 inches the place comes to a standstill. We're not set up for snow here at all.

All you fellows on the East Coast batten down the hatches, we’ve got rain all last night, fields are flooded and it’s moving your way.

Can't help you with the rain situation...far as electricity goes, can't beat having your own generator to at least light up part of your home. I have a small one that takes care of refrigerator, small window A/C, computer and modem, couple of lights and the spark for the gas stove. We set up one room to live in if we are out of electricity for more than a day. Always pays to be prepared in case of emergency...we get our share of those here in north Florida.

Ground saturated here south of Raleigh. Being the edge of the sand hills and sandy soil I'm more worried about the wind knocking out power. Just had a cord of wood delivered. Snow here is only 2-4 inches predicted, which is enough to shut everything down. Stores look empty and I guess folks will be eating French toast for the next 3 weeks.
