A neighbor's sister lives in the "mountains" of NC. They received 13 inches.
This one missed us completely on the NM/CO border.

I hope it moves this way. We've got nada. Don't really get snow that often here, but it's nice to have the odd time.

Being in central Oklahoma, all the storms circled around to the south of us. The sun is out and it's going to be a GREAT Smoking day.Course I smoke inside anyway so I guess any day/weather is great for smoking.

Here in Bend, Oregon this morning, was 28* when I took the dogs out for their morning constitution walk. We have some snow on the ground, but its kind of the crunchy/icy kind at this point in time. More of the good stuff is hanging-out up in the Cascade Mountains and ski areas. We may experience some snowfall again a week from today (12/16 thru 12/18), but we'll see if that materializes or not. Temperatures now are in the mid 20's to high 30's in the Central Oregon area. I miss a consistent snow myself, and am all set with snow tires in place. I just need some snow to drive on. Having lived in states such as Minnesota and Wisconsin, getting 2 or 3 inches to me is a sneeze. In Wisconsin (well, Minnesota too), I was one of those young kids that use to leave for school at 7am all bundled-up, and walk over 2 miles to school (and I enjoyed that walk). Quite, white blankets of snow everywhere, sunny icy skies, no breeze, and a temperature of below zero on a regular basis. Always a foot or more of snow on the ground (depending where you were at). Snow banks on the side of the roadways towering higher due to the City snowplows that would push the snow from the roads to the sides. And yes, schools (elementary and high schools) were "always" opened. We seemed to function quite well during Winter. Folks seem to be different today, and my God, should an inch of snow accumulate on the ground, the chicken littles appear out of the woodwork and catastrophe is just around the corner So now, I gotta take a shower and get it together, cuz the wife says we need to go out for breakfast this morning. I think she wants to get me over to Costco thereafter for some reason. Pleassssssssssssse. Not shopping

I usually just sit in the corner, but yes my sight is improving vastly. I've been able to reduce the zoom setting back 110% and I no longer have to use a tube or get right up on he screen to read.I can see the look on my wifes face when I fire up a bright viginia, kind of like the look kids get when they eat a lemon. But the Lat blends she really likes,so alls good.

62° here in central north Florida...overcast and kinda gloomy, but no frozen stuff yet (not really expecting any)...but you never know. You folks in the storm affected area...stay warm and remember to bring your other "kids" inside (dogs-cats-what have you)...just cause you are likin' it doesn't mean they do. Just cause they got fur doesn't mean they aren't cold.

Charlotte secondary roads are a mess. Interstate is decent. Not enough plows to go around, the usual!

Certainly cold enough for snow in my part of Maryland but its staying more south. Got a few tiny flakes here and there while my sister who lives an hour south of me is getting a little more. With that said, I spent three hours outside staying warm with fleece, propane and three bowls of good tobacco.

We ended up with 12 inches of snow, but now they are talking about freezing rain. That, we can live without. Just hope we don't lose power.

Just heard from JimInks, he just lost power and will be offline for the foreseeable future. No heat in his home. Wish him luck, along with the rest of Greensboro.

Power outages occur frequently here. That is the nature of rural electric service.
Woodstove or die. Although some rely on LPG fired heat and hope their furnace or heater does not require electricity.
Lanterns and lamps, parafin. Candles and candle lanterns.
Cook on the woodstove or use a camp stove.
Pray the water storage tank does not run dry.
I am certain Jim will get through it.
