Next Wednesday, Dec 19th we will be hosting PIPE NIGHT with Arizona Pipe Club! We would love it if you could join us for evening, starting at 5 pm! If you'd like to participate, we will have a white elephant tinned tobacco exchange! Just bring a wrapped tin of tobacco! If you are unfamiliar with the White Elephant exchange: Each participant supplies one wrapped tin of tobacco The gifts are placed in a central location, and participants determine in which order they will take turns selecting them. The first person opens a wrapped gift, and the turn ends.
On subsequent turns, each person has the choice to either unwrap a new present or to "steal" another's. When a person's gift is stolen, that person can either choose another wrapped gift to open or can steal from another player.
To avoid never-ending circles, each gift can only be stolen once per turn. The game is over when everyone has a present.

I wish you could too.
Justin needs to fire up the corporate jet from all the revenue the forum generates, and fly everyone in. I don’t like to go around spreading rumors, but I hear that he spends most of the money flying back and forth to his getaway in Fiji.

I love that idea. I must try it with my friends. The White Elephant is also called Yankee swap or Dirty Santa. I have been involved where everyone’s item is suppose to be a regifting of a “treasure” that you want to be rid of.... that can be quite funny. Hopefully, no one will do that... I don’t need to be stuck with CBG.

Folks in AZ, a conflict prevents me from joining you. I hope everyone enjoys great holidays, and I'll see you in January!

Another great time, in fine company at a comfy venue! Thievery was kept to a minimum, I recovered very well after a devastating loss, LOL.

Last minute medical kept me from being there (even had a dust-up with the wife, "but, but, I promised... PIPE CLUB.). Sadly, it seems the first rule of Pipe Club is not to speak of Pipe Club if one wants to sneak out of the house. Of course, my name would be dirt if I did that and ended up missing a flight to the Philippines because I torqued something.
Glad to hear it was a good time. AZ pipe smokers really benefit from this sort of thing. Thanks to those who showed for keeping it alive.

The guys will be here for you. Also what pipe club there is no stinking pipe club. When you can find a comfortable chair, find a glass with three fingers of Scotch in it, a large pipe filled with your favorite tobacco. Then to finish things a nice peanut butter and honey sandwich on a 15 grain bread.

Excellent advice on all counts, especially the sandwich, though I may substitute Bourbon for the Scotch if it doesn't offend too terribly!

I was on my way down the hill and suddenly heard a loud, POP!! The right, front tire had exploded. Best bet is that the mechanic left it over-inflated as he was the last to touch it. This was a brand new tire that had been in use for several days already. We took it in for a slow leak which was just a bad stem core the day before. At least it was only about 5 miles from home and I had everything needed to get the donut spare on and back to the house. My wife said the look on my face was like a little kid but, damn, I was looking forward to this! Glad to hear you all had a nice evening and I'll be mailing out the stuff I had packed to take with me.

Well Darin, 5 miles from the house is better than dealing with it 5 miles from Big Sticks... on quite a few levels... one of them half empty half full glass scenarios... we missed you, but there is always next time.
We had 9 people show up, it was a lot of fun... I got drawn first to pick which generally not a good thing in a white elephant exchange. I opened the wrapping to reveal a tin of Esoterica “So To Bed”! ( donated by Russ...Bonneville) I thought that my chance to hold onto it was nil, but no one stole it from me! That was pretty cool, I will have to crack it at a future meeting.
I hung out with Paul after everyone left, and he shared with me what he has in plans on the cigar side of the business that is really cool. I don’t think he wants it out in the public domain until after he makes a public announcement... he didn’t say that, but I perceive it. By the end of the weekend, I will send out an email to all the pipe club members explaining about it.
I will stop in next week on my run, and chat with him about the Arango possibilities.
The future is bright!

Totally agreed ... that didn't stop me from pouting for a couple hours though. I unwrapped my own White Elephant gift I was bringing which was a tin of 2010 McClelland Aurora and drank a few beers. Glad you all had a great night and look forward to the upcoming news from Paul!
