As I mentioned here this past Saturday my wife and I hosted a pot luck dinner at our house for friends and neighbors in celebration of the holiday season.30 people showed up.One dear sweet lady 51 years old was here to celebrate what could very well be her last Christmas. She has been living for 3 years with a liver that had slowly quit working. The doctors had told her that her only hope was a transplant. If she didn't get one very soon she would die.During that dinner she got a call..Get to the hospital as soon as you can .We've found you a liver. She broke down in tears. My wife held here and told her she was going to be OK..Yesterday she under went 9 hours of surgery. She now has a new liver. She still has a long road of recovery ahead of her,but she now has a chance to live at least another 30 years..Modern medicine has come a long way.I believe though that much more research needs to be done to find cures for thing that shorten lives.

That gives a whole new meaning to “pot luck”! Hopefully, next year’s dinner can be a one year anniversary celebration. Thanks for sharing.

That is nice that 30 people could instantaneously share the joy... the donor gave a priceless gift.

It took a long time Larry, but when the phone rang it answered Anne Murray's concern.
