Hadn't seen a hummingbird this week. Figure they took off for the winter so I pulled in the feeders and gave them an Oxiclean bath this morning. I knew that stuff had to be good for something other than cleaning vulcanite stems. Having Sam Gawith Full Virginia Flake in a Pete 999 9mm Rhodesian with a Savinelli balsa filter, drinking ice tea with lemon while contemplating whether to do laundry or mow this afternoon. What a life Retirement really seems to agree with you Dunbar in a Goussard freehand (This one: goussardpipes.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=388&Itemid=223 ) for breakfast. Coffee.

Last smoke of the day is Old Colonial in a medium bend beater 1979 Aalborg natural freehand made by Nording with a black vulcanite stem. Finally done with work on a special project that I hope will get me a particular job in a different, more realistic style than what I normally do. The change would be nice.

Clutch performance by the Giants last night. Think the Cubs pitching will stay them through but you can't write off the Giants, very dangerous team right now. Starting off the morning with Hearth and Home Louisiana Red in a Pete 312, drinking Trader Joe's coffee before cleaning up and running some errands.

It's starting to grow on me. Conventional wisdom is staying busy is the key; however, my father told me that's not true. He said learning to relax and take it easy after being jacked up from working all the time is the essential element. I'm doing my best imitation.

Mark Ryan tells me that the first batches were sold in July, so they beat the Aug. 8th FDA deadline. There will be another commercial release later this year.
