I had to warn the postmistress to have someone else in her office when she spoke with the aforementioned carrier. Anyone who would stuff a mailbox like that and think they were doing their job is dangerously nutsoid.

Last year drove thru front yard, at front steps, recent rain, ruts galore. Lord in Heaven, I might have stabbed somebody

Living in a dense area of New York city, I never, ever have any trouble with my postman. It is very much the way it was when I grew up, where you know your postal service representative and he knows you. I had no idea that rural routes were so deprived. That said, I get mine from FedEx. Those god-forsaken wretches have cheated me out of quite a lot. It is essentially impossible to get a FedEx package in my vicinity. Worse, FedEx was the means of ~$2500 of credit card theft on my card. Some thousands of dollars of pool supplies were ordered from Sears.com with my correct name, credit card and address. Then the local (doubtlessly non-union) dip-shite intercepted the packages -- because they were all FedEx. It took a considerable amount of my time to straighten things out with my credit card firm -- they were immensely distressed by charges with my correct name, credit card, and address. They even sent me the receipts and bills of lading for the Sears.com charges. All fraudulent. FedEx, of course, denies any culpability. Nevermind that this scam was impossible without the co-ordination of FedEx staffers. It's impossible! No FedEx staffer, working for eight bucks an hour on a contingent basis, would risk that cherry job to ... err... steal thousands of dollars in goods.
Say what you will about unionisation, here or anywhere else, but USPS and UPS staff members do not steal from me on a regular basis.

Last year I supplied the same young lady with cold cokes and kind energy bars during the hot summer months, she usually passes around 12 to 1:30 so I knew she needed a snack. Something changed and now she's just a lazy 💩 I have always treated people like I would want to be treated. Some people just ain't no good. Postmaster alluded to me she's trouble., Put a little dog 💩 on that little curved handle she has to pull down to open your mailbox. She’ll get the message and pay more attention.....lol

True... carriers have pepper spray one snarl, and Fido gets a snout full of pepper spray, plus tethering the dog to the mailbox looks like a setup.

I have fortuitously enough, just had a pleasant experience with the local postal staff. Just got a package with the wrong address on it (street and town wrong) but my name correct. The person that gathers the mail from the central office noticed it while there picking up for the local office and recognized my name and picked it up.

Our parcels used to be placed in parcel lockers in the local PO near the mail boxes. Then folks started robbing the parcel lockers so that is out until the USPS can start locking the PO front door at night. Our PO is open four hours Monday through Friday, so one has to be quick to get their parcels.

Wife paid extra money to have a parcel delivered from Amazon on Saturday...checked the status and see that it says..."delivered" then in small letters below..."available for pickup" at the post office 15 miles away...Needless to say I'm a little pissed...package is a cell phone case (you know how small that is). Better let her pick it up, or I'll be needin bail money.

I took a package to the PO near my work in S/W Phoenix and decided to drop off in the half revolving package dump...found chains and locks on the door pre-8 AM..what the hell? In my town of Gilbert, PO's are open 24/7 for self service options...the people in S/W Phoenix complain about the cops...the people in Gilbert pretty much abide by the law and benefit from doing so....funny how that works.

Every day the news shows a porch bandit and here lately stealing Christmas ornaments from front yards. I have been lucky and make sure my mail carrier is rewarded. I have my own Fedup story about how they lost a 9ft one piece fishing rod. How in Sams hell can you lose a 9ft long package. I cringe every time something is shipped via Fedup.

It would be awkward if the address was correct, but they accidentally put the wrong name on the package. You could have ended up with something 'interesting'.

Wife was supposed to get package yesterday (see above)^^^...turns out that USPS was supposed to carry it to its' destination....well...Gov. is shut down....guess they had to run around to all the towns in the USA to get the packages that were supposed to be delivered and were not, pick them up and deliver them....on Sunday!!! Checked the website and it said it was delivered....went out to the gate (where mail box is) yup, sure enough...there is the package at 8AM on Sunday morning...OK Amazon...you did live up to your promise!!

Drinking coffee this morning, reading news, 2 men at FedEx accused and caught of paying Hub Manager and Security Guard to turn their faces away from theft of IPHONES and APple watches to the tune of almost 50,000$, they found 94 IPHONES in their backpacks. This was a FedEx hub in Texas. I am a loss for words,

Glad you got your package on time. It is nice to see things work out the way they are supposed to. Amazon usually turns over deliveries here to the Postal Service. Not always as quick as represented but eventually....

Supposedly mail will not be affected by this shutdown, holiday observance will be observed.

The USPS has been independent of the Federal budget and Federal government since passage of the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970. They are a self-funding independent agency with a corporate structure. So, they are not impacted by this government shutdown problem. They have their own special problems, bless their hearts.

My mail carrier (same great gal 2 years now) looks after me and my mail like a mother hawk. The other day she rang my doorbell to see if I was ok because I hadn't taken my yesterday's mail out of the box.

Service bold-ed because service should be bold and performed.

Oh, damn, that doesn't sound like a good trend line. Hope it changes for the better.
