waiting on Exxon Dividend check for Christmas bucks, wife sees carrier stuff box and beat on it to push in, can’t close door. I go with my phone take picture, took about 5 minutes to pry and pull to get package, at least theif would of had trouble to steal it, dividend check behind it. Last year she drove her Jeep through my front yard right to my front steps and kerplonk I heard the package hit the porch, took picture of her backing out. Ruts galore. Old Carrier was a saint and I didn’t know it.!

Oh my. We have a “grandfathered” mail slot at our front porch that mail carriers despise because it takes some dexterity to cram the bundled up mail in the slot in one go. Heaven forbid they should drop it in in smaller amounts. Driving on the lawn is inexcusable.

Good grief. You guys have real issues with post, what with dodgy couriers and pirates.
I'm glad you got your foot in the photo too.

Looks like it woulda fit fine in the other direction. My USPS annoyance this week was an order from 4noggins. They shipped on the 17th from Bethany CT. It took almost 3 1/2 days to go 45 miles to Stamford CT. Then, a day to go 300 miles to me.

I have most of my shipments sent to work, typically if a few letters come the carrier puts them in a mailbox like that. Packages typically are brought into the office and the clerks get it. I had a $400 pipe I received a delivered notification during my day run... on a late Friday night, the office staff said nothing came in. On a hunch, I checked the mailbox by the street... same size box as yours, it looked like it was punched into the box... and had I not gotten the notification, it would have sat over the weekend an arms length away from all the pedestrians that walk by in a shady part of town.
Thank God that the staff at SP did a good job protectively packing it.

She was standing blocking sun so I could take a picture, IPHONES are terrible in a situation of bright sun. We also both had to grab package on both sides and pry and pul for a couple minutes to get box out.

That’s ridiculous.......I’d take the picture to your local PO and ask to speak with the Post Master👍

At least you got your package!!! I usually have to hunt mine down..."Oh, we delivered it next door...didn't think you were home"...what the H e l l does that even mean? Why would you give it to a neighbor, that I don't even talk to? Mail carriers....some are just dumb!

I see stuff all the time that makes me feel lucky. My usual mail lady is great and the other two who fill in for her when gone are just as good. My UPS guy is pretty cool and will drop boxes to my back porch so they're out of site. The FedEx people have been good too in this area.
My only small complaint is that I'll track a package and see is go in what I feel is a stupid direction but I dont know enough about any of the systems to understand why.

During busy times the USPS doesn’t always ship to your closest annex. Makes no sense, my last package was already in Raleigh......about 10 minutes from Knightdale, NC. They ended up shipping to Greensboro.....JimInks could have picked it up for me. Took an extra 3 days of travel time. Wonder why the USPS loses money!?!?!?

I think that it was John “Papipeguy” that had a package travel up and down the east coast several times a few years ago, the tracking history was screenshotted.... that was epic.

Did you have to use the jaws of life to get it out? I'll be screwed soon since my regular mail man is retiring and the replacements are awful. I have one that doesn't speak english.

You must be living in an extremely rural area.....definitely shotgun fun at the door late night knocking 👍 We have no delivery either. Have to go to the PO Box and pick it up. The good side is that nothing gets mashed. Any knocks on my door at night definately get answered with a pistol in my pocket. Given I have a 2000 foot driveway , nobody comes by by accident.

Last week the dog started barking at 1:08am, then I heard a light knock. I sleep with a 1911 under my pillow. Got pistol in hand quickly, safety off, pistol pointing at front door with my finger ready along the slide, gently opened front door. Ended up some jerk was drunk and knocked on the wrong door. Before you “ pull that trigger “ you better make damn sure you have justified cause.

We have had that happen. It took me 20 minutes to get it out. I complained to the postmistress and never saw her again. Had another that threw a package in the bushes. After discussing the matter we are friends. Had an Amazon driver that left a package on top of my truck in the driveway. Call to Amazon cleared that up.

Old Carrier was a saint and I didn’t know it.! I live in rural So. Louisiana and have the same type mail box. Though one shouldn't need to give a mail carrier a gift for good service, I discovered it does wonders for one's service. I order special roasted coffee beans and non-local honeys such as Sourwood and Tupelo not available in my area. At least once a year when a package of one of those two items arrive I'll give my carrier a pack of coffee beans or a jar of honey. She's provided top notch service ever since. She declined a tin of pipe tobacco which I expected, but I don't have to worry about my bacccy orders. All of my packages throughout the year get carefully placed inside my garage if I have the door open and in the corner of my front porch out of the weather when I'm not home. My UPS carrier loves baseball. Once a year when I'm not going to be able to attend an LSU baseball game, I give him my season tickets to a game for him to take his son to a game. I get the same type of carefull responsible service from him. Since I seem to be ordering more stuff on line in these times and expect to continue doing so vs. B&M shopping, extending a token of appreciation every once in awhile has definitely been worth it in my experiences.

Last year I supplied the same young lady with cold cokes and kind energy bars during the hot summer months, she usually passes around 12 to 1:30 so I knew she needed a snack. Something changed and now she's just a lazy 💩 I have always treated people like I would want to be treated. Some people just ain't no good. Postmaster alluded to me she's trouble.,
