Last week I loaded a MM Polished Morgan Cob (previously smoked) with Two Friends Celtic Mist. It's been sitting in the open air on the end-table next to the recliner where I spend most of my time.
Celtic Mist is not terribly wet when new (certainly not as much as Molto Dolce) but I am curious to find out how it smokes after a week.
I'll smoke it tonight and report back.
Carry on.

Martin, you will notice a big change and a much more enjoyable smoke. πππ. Looking forward to reading your thoughts after smoking.

My 3 year old Bengal Slices was drier than the fresh stuff right out of the sealed tin. Maybe a little cooler and the flavor is slightly more subtle. Not so much that I will wait to open up the next tin and dive in.

Well, I was sure surprised... after sitting around for a week, I liked the Two Friends Celtic Mist better than when I let it sit for an hour or two. It isn't particularly "wet" when it's fresh, but I thought it would be like tinder after a week... not so!
Tasty, better behaved in the lighting and burning, and a perfectly satisfying smoke!
I'm amazed. Might change my whole way of thinking about tobacco.

You'd need to have a LOT of pipes if you are pre-loading a week in advance.

You'd need to have a LOT of pipes if you are pre-loading a week in advance. All depends on how many pipes you smoke in a day.

Pre-loading for driving is a good thing, though one I seldom remember to do. And I am a one handed push and stuff guy anyhow, so no real problem as long as the bag is big enough so I can move my fingers!
But loading a pipe with the idea of drying the tobacco is next to futile: the top bits will dry down, but it'll still be damp where you want it the driest- the heel.
