Since joining this community a mere week ago I have received loads of welcomes, bits of knowledge, tips, and a lot of encouragement. I have been putting all of this into practice and have been able to really begin to enjoy the beginning of this adventure. In a past post of mine I inquired about tongue bite and how to combat that. I received videos and other tips and suggestions on proper technique. I am happy to announce that after all of the trial and error, I can almost feel my tongue again. Flavors are coming back, and the smoke doesn't bite near as much any longer. To those that helped me I tip my hat. To any new guys out there who may be reading this, don't get too discouraged. Some of us just take a bit of time to figure this whole thing out. And I have discovered that this is the place to come. Whether you need questions answered, tips, or just a place to read and interact with others. this is the place for all things pipe.

Glad to hear that the learning curve didn’t result in a nosedive.
The internet is a tool, and the contributors in the community are pretty accommodating in that they want to help avoid recreating the wheel.
