As far as I know, Aldi in America does not sell it. I read an article about it earlier this year. Now I don't know if things have changed since then but I do know that two around me do not sell it or any kind of alcohol.
If things change, I am quite curious myself.

We only have lidl over here. Although we do have Aldi in the south. I've still never tried any. Only one way to find out...

Automatic answer should always be "yes"!
I love when my wife travels, she always brings a few bottles of duty free scotch home.

Can't buy it at Aldi here in Texas. They can only sell wine and beer as hard liquer can only be sold in licquer stores.

By all means, have her bring you a bottle of both, Scott. I'll have to give them a try as well. Thanks for the tip. 👍 P.S. This is my 2,000th post. Thanks for the camaraderie here at the Patch and a special thanks to JimInks for steering me to this great group of people!

My wife brings this home and what. I am going to reach for the Laphroaig, Ardbeg, Lagavulin 16, Black Bush, OGD Bonded, or anything else first. So, she's like "Soooo, you don't like the whiskey that I bought you!". And I'm like "But I had all of these bottles opened already and I was saving it for a special occasion,?" See, this isn't a yes or no question. Lots of things need to be considered. 1st: Really bad whiskey is very rare I don't remember the second one.

Aldi's doesn't make bad product. We used to grab their pot pies for 33 cents apiece. Made at the same factory as Banquet. I would love to try their Scotch, but I don't think you get good Scotch until you are "above" Johnnie Walker Red. Red still tastes of a chemical additive. Single Malts are hit and miss, unless you stick with tried and true. Johnnie Walker Double Black forever. Tastes like Dunhill Nightcap

Aldi’s house label beer is pretty darn good. I bought a six pack of their Bock. It's OK to cook with.

We only go every now and again for 2 dollar milk and a loaf of dollar bread. They are building a new one across from the #1 money making Kroger who has the market cornered and goes up every time we stop in. The only thing with Aldi is I don't what is good and what is not.

The only thing with Aldi is I don't what is good and what is not. 99% of what we have bought there has been at least good and often better than good. We shop there as often as possible to avoid dropping a C-note+ at Kroger. The beer isn't enough cheaper to make it a good deal. We get most of our staples there.

Sorry I am not all that excited by Aldi Scotch. There are a ton of cheap blends out there to buy. Personally I like the unique tastes of Single Malts and the occasional well-blended Scotches.

The only bad purchase I ever made at Aldi was coffee. Turned out not to be 100% Arabica. Meaning it was almost entirely Robusta. Not a great experience.
Of course, it was $3 for a five pound tin, so maybe I should have known better

One of the Aldi scotches is, in fact, a single malt. For $23. Their blended scotch is a minimum 8 years aged.
This stuff is a screaming deal even without winning awards for quality.

Good to know (I should have read the link before posting 😁) however I have never found a 23 dollar Single Malt Scotch worth writing home about. The blends I have enjoyed are typically not that young and often blended by boutique blenders. This is not to say I enjoy every "mid to higher" priced Scotches equally. There are also "mid to higher" end Scotches that are not worth the price point and/or not that pleasing to my palate, which are avoided. In any case, I am willing to spend 20-30 dollars more for a young Glenmorangie, Laphroaig etc. over what is offered as "store" Scotches Maybe Aldi has produced exceptions to my bottom end Scotch market experiences, maybe not. In the spirit of discovery if I come across some, I will try it.

Haven't heard of those. Certainly sounds like they're worth a try though. At that price, they could be the Orlik of Scotch whiskey. Haha

In the spirit of discovery if I come across some, I will try it. Exceptions to the rule for bottom priced products are Aldi’s M.O. I am familiar with Aldi. My wife and I shop there all the time, great place. I would agree that they are good quality and generally lower priced then the typical major grocery store chains. I have tried Table and Vine and other liquor store brand (with a good liquor selection and prices) Scotches, mostly Single Malts, similar price to Aldi with some awarded this or that medal. My experience has been as described. Will Aldi Scotch, "Glen Marnoch" or "Highland Black", be more rewarding? I do not know. If it is as good as advertised,it will find its way into my stash as one of many. I drink for flavor and enjoy even subtle differences and like my pipe tobacco, one example will not satisfy me.😃 I am also not a Budweiser kind of guy😁. However if one is offered, I will drink it with you. PS Liquor laws can be different for each state and sometimes counties. So I would not bother waiting for Aldi to stock Scotch in a number of places. I think my closest bet is going to be Missouri.lol
