Looking for reviews and impressions of Beacon Extra. Thinking of ordering a few tins. I want to try some and also maybe put several tins in the cabinet and let them get some age on them.

I had a tin of regular Beacon a few years ago, liked it and put back a couple tins from 2013 in the cellar; however, I've never tried the Extra. Tobacco Reviews.com would be your go to for more information. Should be an abundance of reviews on this one there.

It is pretty well thought of on Tobacco Reviews. May have to go ahead and pick up some tins.

Don, loading up on tins is par for the course here. With many blends going away in 18 months now is the time to act.

I know. I have been buying a lot of tobacco over the past year. I probably have several years worth of smoking stored away, but really want to put enough aside to last a lot longer than that. Trying to cellar blends that age well. I tend to smoke any aromatics as I buy them and when I buy blends for cellaring, I will order 3-4 tins, smoke one and date and store the rest.

I believe it's the same as the regular Beacon except it has a little higher Perique content. For me anyway, McClelland dark Virginias are the gold standard so I would expect these to cellar very nicely. Hope you enjoy the Extra.

Well, I just ordered 3 tins of Beacon Extra and 4 tins of Viprati from P&C. Looking forward to trying both.
