This ^^^^^^^^from a pipe smoker I’d trust as well. Also purchase Arango Balkan Supreme 👍👍 I got peter Stokkebye Balkan Supreme same blend. Similar, not exactly the same....both are an excellent smoke.....enjoy 👍 |

I have a 2 bowl sample that is several years old.. I am afraid to try it just for the reasons stated above! Some of the other Esoterica blends are a bit easier to find and quite enjoyable in their own way.

I might get around too that but there are so many Blends at my my Local B&M I want t explore first like today I picked up some PS oriental supreme & Balken supreme. |

I enjoy Penzance when I can get it. The closest I've ever come in another blend is MacBaron's HH Latakia Flake. From my own smoking I find it to be very close.

Above suggestions are good indeed. I was a long time Balkan Sobranie 759 smoker, and now I'm pretty happy with C&D Engine 99 as an alternative, and also available in bulk.

G.L. Pease Quiet Nights will do you right. Yes. While still apples and oranges, QN (other than some equally tough to find SH blends) scratches the itch best for me. |

Germain's Special Latakia (aged a few years) is just about as close to Penzance as I've found, but all others mentioned above are also very close cousins...

All the SIMILAR blends have been mentioned so far. I've been mixing different latakia based blends 50/50 for fun lately. I'm happy with a mix of C&D Pirate Kake and Quiet Nights. Or a 50/50 mix of Plum Pudding and Sutliff Crumble Kake #1
Try it. I'm down to my last pound of Penzance, but don't have any desire left to go find it if I wanted some. These other Latakia blends suit me fine.

I don’t think Germain’s Special Latakia is close to Penzance, but... it’s the best damn tin note of any English blend. Every time I pop the jar to smoke a bowl, I huff it like a paint junkie first.

My local B&M finally got in some Esoterica blends including 3 bags of Penzance, it took them about 6 months from the time they ordered it, but hey at least are on the distribution list  |
