So I got in the Missouri Meerschaum MacArthur I ordered. And honestly I think it is very cool. However when looking down the tobacco chamber I end up thinking this is going to be interesting to try to smoke. So the plan is to sit down on the back porch tonight and give it a go. Anyone else out there have one and how did it smoke.

I think it would be hard to clean.

You use a coat hanger to clean it.
Looks like a smoke for when you've loads of time on your hands.

After the first few smokes you’ll really enjoy that Cob. Roll up a half sheet of paper towel to clean out the chamber. Hope you enjoy for your Cob for many years 👍👍
PS If you need to scrape the bottom of the chamber, open a large paper clip.....it’s perfect.

That beats the crap out of my MM Generals. I don't have a tamper which would get to the bottom of this one.

Get a half inch round diameter wooden dowel at your favorite hardware store and cut it to the size you want. Less than a couple of dollars and longer than you'll ever need because the smallest they usually sell them is about 24 inches long.

Should smoke fine. I have a few stacks thst are 3.25 inches deep, and I love 'em. Deep narrow bowls concentrate the flavor.

I have one that has been neglected too long. They smoke better than you can imagine.

I was going to ask how it went, but you're probably still smoking it.

I have one. It was too deep for my liking so I cut it down to the size of a MM General. I like it much better now. Of course, YMMV.

I was going to ask how it went, but you're probably still smoking it. Alright so here's my report on the MM General MacArthur pipe. First off it is not a clencher, but I did find out that when I lean back on my porch swing it rests perfectly on my chest. Now it also holds a lot(emphasis on lot) of tobacco, admittedly I did tamp the tobacco bit tighter then I usually do. This was due to the chamber being a little bit smaller diameter wise then I usually smoke. The end result was a nice, long and enjoyable smoke. I can't say that it impacted the flavor of the Murray's 1921 Cunningham, it was good as always. It will be interesting to try different blends in it over time. End result was that it smoked well, did not get to hot and was a lot of fun. I do recommend it.

I got a General in a bag of smokable seconds. That looks big enough for me.

I would definitely smoke it. It might not be in my regular rotation, but it wouldn't collect dust, either.

I have that same pipe and I don't remember if I smoked it during my first marriage with pipe smoking but I do remember wondering what I could use to relight it when it was nearing the end of a bowl

I've got one that's about 100 years old with an 18 inch bent reed stem. Only smoked it once and used extra long fireplace matches for lighting.

I LOVE my cons but that just seems in the ridiculous realm for pipe sizes. If you like it though congrats, smoke the crap out of it!

In looking at the size of that bowl, you start packing it Thursday, light it Friday morning and dump the ashes out on Sunday right?
That's a good LOOOOOOONG smoke there, enjoy it!

I like the look of the unfinished one. May have to pick one up the next time I call MM.

I have 2. One Finished and One Natural. I use them for movie pipes and clean them with churchwarden pipe cleaners.
