Imperfect people are far more interesting than those who think they are.

Long time ago a Red Neck friend was studying Cajun French at UL in Lafayette. He coherised me to go one night, taught by an Old Cajun Spinster, I told him to be careful in how he pronounced the word for coat as it’s close to the word for condum, well he screwed up and had to make a sentece in Cajun French in putting on his coat. He gets up and blurts out he put his condum on because it was raining. Imagine the look on the Old Spinsters face, the room Gahawwed, I broke out in a hysterical laughter, I laughed all night, he was not the teachers favorite.! Now, that is funny!!

All my life, I've felt more comfortable at night. I don't know why. I've thought about it, and wondered... it's not that I don't like being awake during the day... perhaps this has contributed to my insomnia, but it just feels more comfortable to be awake when it's dark.

Imperfect people are far more interesting than those who think they are. I know I am imperfect, so I guess that makes me less interesting?

Me too... I occasionally take a jab at someone when spellcheck “corrects” what they meant to say, or they double post.... because I do it so often myself. After 12-14 hours on the road, and checking in here before going to bed, sentence structure is ofttimes lacking on my part... or I ramble before drifting off to neverland.

If I posted that I was drinking coffee in a cup and someone replied "How did you get into the cup?", I'd consider that more of a joke than an attempt to correct my post. I guess during those times my being dimwitted is a blessing. I don't know enough to take offense. 😁

I don't know enough to take offense. 😁 I think so too - i would consider that more of a play on words; something to which the English language lends itself. To me, that phrase is correct either way. The annoyance is when people think they are better than others and lord it over others by their correction of grammar or punctuation. If I ever do that, ban me.

The only time I feel compelled to point out grammer is when people don't put 2 of the letter "o" to describe an exaggerated use of the word "to", as in too cold, too hot, too big,too fat, too big, etc. It is supposedly one of the top ten biggest grammer mistakes on the web. Being that it is 3:10am there is likely a grammar mistake here.

The great thing about not giving a rats petunia about grammer is every thing looks and reads perfect. I get a sense of superiority being able to decipher what is meant rather than what is written and I don't have to belittle any one in the process. So rejoice in those mistakes and be glad someone shared with you.

My view is,we're all just banging out chatty replies and comments at the moment, fighting thumbslips on the virtual keyboard, the autocorrect robonazi and brevity. So misspellings, grammatical errors and dangling participles be Damned and forgotten.

Quite often I post here late at night. It seems easier then to make a mistake. Now and then I notice one in the morning that I made the night before. I've been on forums where folks were quick to point that out..Not so here..For example..Once on another forum I said that I was drinking coffee in a cup.The next morning several folks wanted to know how I got in the cup..I guest we all make typos on occasion..Folks here are polite enough to not to make an issue of it..Another quality of the folks on this forum. Thank You I think we all make those kinds of mistakes. I generally overlook, but when I make one and someone makes a silly comment, I just laugh along. We're all among friends.

Absolutely. Crumby weather is a favourite for me as well. For so many reasons- One of which is simply that fewer people are out. It also makes the world feel smaller and more personal. And if there is any time the world feels as though it may still contain any magic or mystery, it's on a stormy night.
All that aside, it is likely just our natural circadian rhythms.

Like jackdiamond said. It's a social forum. We're not submitting to a medical journal or writing obituaries here.
I know my punctuation is horrid.. I tend to write so that what I am saying comes across the way it would if we were in the same room having a conversation. Not exactly using voice the way Mark Twain would, but kind of along those lines. Artistic license we'll call it, though I'm no poet laureate.
I do however, love correcting people when it is some bullheaded schmuck on Facebook spouting off their opinions as gospel.

I try to use correct grammar and punctuation, but I know I often fall short in my efforts, however I may miss an error or typo and sometimes autocorrect kicks in and adds something that was not intended. As to mistakes made by others, I just let them go understanding it probably isn’t their fault. Besides, I have enough stress in my life, so should I give myself a wedgie over something so trivial as another’s simple mistake? Not hardly!
