My wife came across a poster given to my son when he jumped with the Old Timers for the 50th Anniversary. So many brave young men.

That's a poignant reminder.

Beautiful picture of a pathfinder. When I got my jump wings, almost 50 years after, the instructors at Benning were still telling us jarheads going through jump school about the pathfinders, true badasses

They were our best men. We have plenty more, fortunately. Called upon when the going gets tough, they give their all.
Never forget!

I'm still a bit salty that they don't let Marines do the blood wings anymore. Course, they also have the timeout card in boot camp Grrrr

I got my HALO and combatant swimmer certifications because, well, there was a pay boost to move from 0325 to 0326, and I wanted that money. LOL always hated damned swimming with the rebreather, and for damn sure hated HALO and HAHO jumps, but that money...….
