It is presently around 8:00 am Wednesday 4/24, and the Smoking Tent does NOT open in exactly a week! It opens around noon, next Wednesday. Regardless of all the tables and comfy chairs already arraigned for smoking and conversations, the tent is not open until the Fire Marshall completes his final inspection.
Don't ask how I know this.

If you are wondering what to pack, it will be between 40's and 60's during the show. Since I don't like to use 4 letter words, I won't say what is supposed to fall this weekend.

Can't Wait! The "Action Pac" is packed and ready to go. The days before I head out are the longest of the year. This time next week I'll be two days in, tired, dehydrated, broke, making promises to myself I won't keep and the show hasn't begun. I've got a deal pending that I'm very excited about! Even after twenty some straight years of Chicago Shows I get a little weak in the knees walking in.

This will be my first ever pipe show. Sad that I live only 15 miles from Pheasant Run! I can only make it Sunday, but can spend the day. Planning to buy everything and planning to buy nothing. Pipes will be my focus. No real budget in mind. But in reason.
So my few questions. Is this the place to look for that birth year Dunhill? Cash is king? Any suggestions for the first timer?
Thanks Patchers

This will be my first, and possibly last, Chicago show. I had the opportunity to make a go of it this year, on short notice, and everything is booked.
I will not have a PC with me, but I can reach the BP from my iPad, so if any show-goers should wish to try and make a BP-specific meetup somewhere, I will be watching this thread.

I will likely be perusing the show on Friday for a couple hours while my darling wife sleeps.
I'll be the guy with the handlebar mustache wearing a baseball cap that says "out there coffee".

Cramptholomew gets my vote too. Your stuff is better than any basket pipe I've seen. š Cramptholomew is rapidly ascending to "Master" status...

I won't be making it this year, too much work to get done. I have to have a kitchen I have to have ready to go by Wed. and will work through the weekend to complete it. With the warm up here a lot of coolers and freezers are freaking out and making life interesting. Hopefully I can make it next year.

anybody going to be there on Saturday? my best buddy lives out in Chicago and he might go to the show. You might need somebody to show him around and give him some schooling. So, if anybody is willing let me know.
