Well that was truly an amazing experience. Like-many have said. A bit overwhelming. As I was paying my admission in. A couple walks past me and I looked at the gentleman taking my money and said “is that Mike and Mary McNiel?” Yes it is. Ok, I guess I can go home, what more is there! What a great bunch of people, every one was so friendly. On both sides of the tables. Jeremy Reeves of C&D was so helpful. While speaking with him, our one and only JimInks walked up to the table. An honor and pleasure to meet him. Silver Gray and her husband are such nice people and she was so willing to share her knowledge. The gentlemen of Eldritch pipes where so gracious and helpful. They are from England and some of his pipes may be a bit different for some, but I found them fascinating. Benjamin Jensen is a young (still in college) pipe maker here in Chicago, who is making some nice stuff. He and I are talking next week. The folks at MM. Just as you’d expect warm and friendly I didn’t purchase any tobacco, wasn’t my real focus. But have things that I do plan on purchasing soon. But did come away with a few pipes!

I imagine the experience is worth the price of admission.

I imagine the experience is worth the price of admission. Admission fees are extremely modest, so that is definitely the case. (there is no way admission pays for the show to any significant extent)

Thanks for the video... some beautiful pipes! That Neerup table really tripped my trigger. Neerup is just so eye catching. Most likely my next pipe purchase. Yeah, some of the finishes they come up with are astounding... I lusted after a Golden orangish Pipe at SP that was beautiful a few years ago, but I was in the cellaring mode. No longer have them fetters.

I imagine the experience is worth the price of admission. What admission? I had both an exhibitor badge (Paul’s Pipe Shop) and a Chicagoland Pipe Collectors Club member badge. No admission fee with either of those. 320+ vendor tables in the hall. Table fees pay for a lot of the show.

Well that was truly an amazing experience. Like-many have said. A bit overwhelming. I was looking for you Sunday but it looks like you got the hang of it! I really like the Silver Gray hawkbill. She does a good job with that shape.
I made it home this afternoon after 4 smoke filled days and nights of fun. I had a great show. The one piece I was expecting sight unseen exceed expectations and I was offered and bought two rare pipes that really fill out the collection. As expected I didn't get offered a couple of other white whales that I've been after for years but hope springs eternal. The library grew by about seven pounds with the additions of the Pete book and new edition of the Dunhill About Smoke reprinted catalog. I have three bags of stuff I picked that will be "curated" into the collection sometime.
It was sad to not be warmly greeted for the first time by Frank Burla and his Family but we pressed on without him and many others who I missed very much.

...you DO know that "Syrian" is not spelled as "Cyrian", right? It's a play on words of the limited release "Syrian Limited" that they did a few years ago. Label is the same color, etc.

I'm at the far left at the beginning of that video. Sure had a great time. I just watched the current episode of Chicago Fire... the Battalion Chief had to direct resources to that spot. Jim has the capability of Mrs. O’Leary’s cow in sparking a 21st century calamity.

I am guessing that predictive text meant flake results instead of fake results... just a guess on my part that they were all well received, and that there were some great smokes.

MeerschaumMarket.com is a very reputable dealer. I bought replacement stems and inserts from them with a 72 hour/turnaround delivery.
