"Mudlarking". What a perfectly British term for playing in the mud. I wish I'd known it when I was a kid!

They're everywhere! It's like clay bullets or arrowheads in The States.

If that was San Francisco, it would be spent needles and human feces to harvest.
Having been to both, I cannot think of two more Iconic cities, with different things “washing up”.

There is an app available to so you can avoid poop, needles not so much. The good news is you will not have to deal with plastic straws. I have spent lots of time in SF and though I remember seeing poop and needles,I can't remember ever seeing a straw.Thank goodness The straw ban is now in effect.

Thanks for sharing, I never would have expected so many...if any at all. Walk the shoreline here and all you will find is dead fish.

That was a great video! Love learning me some history.
As for my location (Delmarva) we have a beach/hard shoreline that's eroding away. It has made its way up to an old cemetery and whole graves have been washed away. Bones and other items can be found on or sticking out from the shoreline. The clay pipes in the mud reminded me of this.

I agree that is pretty interesting video. It is strange seeing the the film appear on the forum just a few days after I was watching it on YouTube.

Pipes everywhere...fascinating. Thanks for posting the vid. a bit like the aftermath of one of trailboss ' pipe club meetings. The floors end up messier than the Thames at our pipe club meetings. That is a pretty cool video.....it is amazing that the lady was able to find some intact....pretty cool dialogue on the designs.

Made me want to go fire up the clay pipe that I have...pretty small bowl on it so it should do nicely with a single flake rubbed out.
