My old pepper mill decided to die on me..A pepper mill is essential to me.So I took inventory of my financial situation and decided I could get a new one.Off across town in all kinds of traffic I went to the big box store. The store has been re-arranged since I was there a year ago.Half the registers are self check out now.I finally got some one to show me where the pepper mills were. They had 3 over priced ones that I didn't think were what I wanted so I didn't get one.I came home and went online.I found exactly what I wanted.at only 5 bucks more that the cheap ones at the store..I'm pretty well convinced now that online shopping is the future for me.

Did you get a perfex pepper mill? Probably the best you can get...as far as pepper mills go. Made in France. Adjustable Peppermill effectively grinds peppercorns into various textures, from fine to coarse, with just a turn of the bottom locking nut Made in Saint-Etienne, France since 1946; heavyweight aluminum with high-carbon steel grinding mechanism; strong, durable, will never dull or oxidize Burr-style grinding mechanism adjusts from fine to coarse with just a turn of the bottom locking nut; front-loading chute allows fast and easy refills Bought one some 40 years ago...still going strong. I just looked them up on Amazon...going for $75.00 now.

I do most of my shopping online. It's so much easier and the variety is always there. Besides, there are few stores near me and I have to drive a fair distance to get to any. I've been into Big Box stores with my wife. I always get lost and she needs to come find me.

Larry, online shopping works best for me, usually cheaper as well. Hope you find the pepper mill that suits your needs. The last one I purchased was from Amazon, very pleased. Good luck👍

With very few exceptions I prefer online shopping! Back in London, the local army surplus store/gun shop and the 99p store were about the only two b+m stores I enjoyed shopping in

In London if your caught carrying a pocket knife with a blade larger then 3”, you lose the knife and will be in front of a Magistrate in a few hours facing a heavy fine for first time offenders. Possible jail time if you had prior charges. I’ve been to London a few times, to be honest......I found it to be a bit gloomy. I guess ALL the rain and fog.

Whew...I'd be seein' that Magistrate pretty regularly...or maybe not, guess I'd be deported like a criminal...can't imagine me going anywhere without my knife in my pocket.

The only drawback with a Perfex grinder is that the nut adjusting the burr is always unwinding itself after numerous uses...put a small locknut on it instead...now I don't have to hunt through the stew looking for that nut so me or my wife doesn't wind up eating it. Other than that it is a great pepper grinder...as is stated it grind to perfection with just what you want in a personalized pepper grinder.

I thought firearms were illegal there. Not at all. At my old club, they shoot .22rimfire,gallery rifles up to .44 magnum, shotgun and black powder revolvers. However the licencing conditions are very strict. Interestingly enough, there are two RFDs (registered firearm dealers) down the road in Newtownards here in Northern Ireland, although the licencing requirements are even tighter here. Handguns, however are completely illegal, and have been since the Dunblain shootings back in the 90s.
