With multiple auctions taking place in the Scottsdale area and Barrett Jackson as the centerpiece, this place is abuzz with some really nice wheels...while watching tv at the pipe shop tonight this one really pegged my lust-meter. 1951 Chevrolet 3800 Napco conversion Details: www.automobilemag.com/news/chevrolet-3800-napco-all-wheel-drive/

That one went for $77,000, Charlie. Looks like it has a 261CI straight six. What a glorious beast of a truck. Love it.

I hate having to lust after so many cool vehicles, knowing that I can never own anything like that.

I found this 49 Powerwagon very appealing.

I found this 49 Powerwagon very appealing. I saw a husband and wife traveling through Santa Maria with a mid 1950 Power Wagon 4X4, to a car show. It was quite a beauty, but the guy admitted that 4 wheel drive Dodge was very unrefined back then and that it was a beast to drive.

If the Powerball comes through it’s a seller’s marker on a ‘66 Chevelle!!

So many stunning older vehicles to choose from, therefore I will not be purchasing one..........yaaaaaaaaaa right........if I had the money there are a couple I’d really like to own. A few years back, in ‘96 I did a full restoration on a ‘68 Firebird....‘twas a real looker and fast as well. Once I became ill it went on the chopping block along with my ‘06 limited edition MX-5 with turbo.
Thanks for posting Charlie 👍👍

A late sixties GTO would suit me just fine..First I have to figure out how they got all the money they're bidding.

I wasn't man-enough yet!

I was watching the Mechom Auction last week and the announcer was very knowledgeable about cars and was asked why so much knowledge, he said he as a safety inspector at a car plant, I was making sure cars had their required equipment. Here is the thing, /Larry our own was exactly this. Small world, thank you Larry for making sure our cars were safe. PS I hope you read this .

That Dodge Power Wagon, like my 1942 Chevrolet, was not made for paved highways. Top Speed in the 45 to 50 MPH range. Non-synchro, "crash box" tranny required some skill to shift, particularly downshifts. No power steering, just a big steering wheel and some muscle. I learned to drive on trucks like that in the early 1960s.

I always see a lot of cars that I lust after. If I won PowerBall I would put Leno to shame. I especially like the resto mod pickups, the restored to new pickups. I had a 51 Ford with the Corvette 265 2x4 barrel engine. I would like to get one with a max flathead.

Never got to modify it as planned. Lost it.

It wasn't always easy Brad..The production guys had a certain number of cars to get out each day. They didn't like it much when I got in the way of that.Sometimes I had to remind them that what I was doing was required by Uncle Sam.

68-71 GM Convertibles. I've seen about 50 I wanted to buy so far.
There was a 75 6.6 TA Firebird Black and Gold that was an eye catcher as well.

Been watching Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale all afternoon. Some really great customs and classics. Saw lots of big money being spent. Sometimes I wonder how so many have so much money to spend.

But if your rant could load my pockets with gold I’m willing to listen. AJ
