Yeah, it is a real revenue generator...a lot of people flock in to all the auctions that run during the same week, Hotels, dining, cigar shops, classic auto transport rigs....aside from the charitable contributions, it pumps a lot of money in the local economy.
And I am sure that the hefty premiums that are charged to pay for charities are tax deductible...glad to see the money go to them than the government.

Charlie I agree that Barrett-Jackson Auctions have raised tons of money for charity. Their auctions attract a lot of very rich people who don’t mind spending their money on some fabulous cars. It’s just hard for me to understand how there can be so many ultra-rich people that spend enormous sums of money on some of these cars. I not suggesting something foul is a foot, but it seems to me that there are more and more people attending these auctions with the means to spend great amounts. I would really like to know how they are making their money. Maybe I could get some pointers. I’ve seen some cars auctioned today that if I had the means they would belong to me.
