Once again...you have brought life to the past...a stunning piece of work. Lucky owner, to have a beauty like that. He had the right man to do the work on it.

Anthony, I greatly appreciate you taking th time and posting these pictures. That’s an extremely rare beauty, one I’m sure ALL Patchers enjoy viewing. Outstanding restoration, I would expect nothing less from you, your passion shows in all your restorations.
That pipe has a long history, the owner hopefully will share more with us👍

Bulldog isn't one of my favorite shapes. This one though is a uniquely beautiful pipe.

The bulldog shape is growing on me more and more and that is one stunning example. It proves that if we take care of our pipes, they may be enjoyed for many years past our lifetimes; especially if there are folks around with your level of restoration skill.

Thank you very much for the kind words, gentlemen. I can't take a lot of credit for the condition of the pipe because it was in excellent condition to begin with. I only gave it a tweak here and a nip there. If I look half as good at half its age, then I'll be more than happy. I'm glad that you guys have enjoyed it. Since there just aren't enough hours in the day, I don't have the opportunity to post as much as I'd like, but I do try to do so when I think that it's something that you guys will find interesting. The pictures are very well done, what camera do you use, Anthony? Don't laugh ... A little Canon PowerShot.

Wow that is a treasure!! Not many of those GBD pre-rondelle pipes around, especially pipes that old, beautiful grain and all.

What really makes it for me is the integrated wind cap.
Not enough to just be silver mounted, and silver capped. It's that wind cap. That just pushes it over the top.

What really makes it for me is the integrated wind cap. Not enough to just be silver mounted, and silver capped. It's that wind cap. That just pushes it over the top. Back in the day, there was a lot more bling on the higher end pipes. Over the past couple of years, I've been noticing that intricate silver and gold accents are making something of a comeback on some of the artisan pipes as well. I'm happy to see that because a bit o' bling never hurts. I really can't get behind the recent gold and silver foil covered pipes though. For me, that's just garish, but to each their own.
