While I'm primarily a Va, VaPer, Latakia smoker, I normally like to keep a Burley or two in the rotation. Here's a brief take on the ones I've tried:
Carter Hall - A lot of us started on this classic OTC. Great with morning coffee, mild all day smoke. Still one of my favorites.
Prince Albert - My WWI veteran great-grandfather's tobacco of choice. I know because I was a pall bearer at his funeral at age 27 - He was 96. I prefer this OTC more for a mixer. It works great for me with McClelland Christmas Cheer which is a little tart for my tastes by itself.
Hearth and Home Chatham Manor - The cocoa in this one is way overdone for me. By the time I finished the first tub it became incredibly bitter tasting.
Hearth and Home Classic Burley Kake - I get more natural sweetness from this one than any other Burley I've tried.
Uhle's Perfection Plug - My intro to cube cute. What's not to like - Gravity feed and enjoy. Rich, deep flavor. Very well done.
Solani Aged Burley Flake - The one tin of this one I've smoked was pretty incredible, enough I cellared ten tins. For lack of a better description, the most complex Burley I've sampled.
Obviously, these aren't reviews - Just quick takes. I'm curious as to others which are out there, perhaps a little off the most traveled paths and worth a try.

I think that Uhle's has some great burley blends, many of which go back to the late '30's and '40's. Many have told me that Peretti also does a fine job with their burleys. On a more commercial basis C&D is one of the better big companies and has some very innovative blends among the +250 in their catalog. I'm still working my way through a tin of Lane Ready Rubbed, which is great for breaking in pipes. I also know a guy at the B&M who goes through 2 big tins of Granger every month. Lot's to explore out there.

When it comes to OTC burley I like both Granger and Velvet. C&D Cube Cut Burley is good as well as its Burley Ribbon Cut. Sutliff used to have an excellent one called Breckinridge but it was discontinued. Someone might be able to scrounge up a sample if you are interested.

Peter Stokkebye Cube Cut - Va/Bur which has replaced any OTC's for me (CH, PA, SWR) C&D Big N' Burley - Just as the name implies but with enough condiment leaf (even a scooch of Latakia) to keep it very interesting. C&D Old Joe Krantz - Va/Bur/Per which, to me, defines the "American Blend" genre and provides ample Vitamin N C&D Burley Flake #1 - Much like OJK but less perique and pressed into a flake. Great smoke! Semois - a Burley variant which is floral and very tasty all by itself. There's many, many more but these are the ones that pop into my mind right now. You've had Solani ABF, so you've seen the pinnacle.

I will second... or third almost anything Burley from C&D. OJK and their Cube Cut are staples for me. OJK as it is, and Cube Cut for mixing up my own little blends.
For my tastes, Wessex Burley Slices is superior to ABF, but also harder to find it seems. I have heard the comparison made between Wessex and Edgeworth Sliced, though I never got that in the flavor profile myself.

Thanks Justin. I've heard of the Wessex but it slipped my mind. ABF sets the bar pretty high so I'll keep an eye out for that one.

Just wanted to add I tried OJK a couple years ago and almost vapor locked from the nic content. I enjoy Kajun Cake, Full Virginia Flake, Old Dark Fired and a few others with sufficient nic content but that one was too much for this cowboy.

G'eve folks , my "tuppeneth'worth" I was a moderate drinker of bitter beer many years ago in my younger days, when I could enjoy a pipe in the pub over a pint of draught bitter, but Mild draught was favoured by many senior drinkers, I compare Virginia's to bitter beer & Mild beer to Burley's in taste in a way, I like a little Solani Aged Burley flake but only occasionally, but I can smoke Clan or even Sunday Fantasy , all day like Bitter beer. Incidentally I compare my old favourite Troost, a Cavendish to brown bottled beer, like my favourites Mann's brown or Newcastle brown bottled beers, I never bothered much with lager, but each to his own,Bye for now folks .

I've enjoyed many Burly blends over the many years, but bar none, CobGuy's Spice Cubes beat them all by many miles... even vintaged Edgeworth Sliced (the now-dethroned pinnacle). I don't know how he does it, and don't dare ask.

Too kind sir ... thank you very much! Sparks has started a "home blends" thread and I will divulge some of the info there.

I haven't tried Chatham Manor yet. I am thinking about getting a pouch of each of the Mid Town series as they have me curious. Back in the mid 1960s I enjoyed some of the Kentucky Club blends.

Not one word about 5 brothers by any one. WOW!!!! Dang 6! I was going to say the same thing. I can't believe I missed a burley thread, even though I haven't posted as much. Mark is right on in about all of his thoughts. The Uhle's totally rocks.
He's even more correct on Chatham Manor's bitterness. a lot of those Midtowns seem bitter.
As to Five Brothers, I just finished a bowl in the slowroll stack. I reserve that and the GBD for 5Bro. It may be too plain for some people. I dunno. I do know it's got a great nic hit and as I say in another thread you can smoke it in any stage of wellness or illness and it's the same. Luvya Bro 7

I'm not a fan of heavy Burley blends, but when combined with Virginias and Perique, or used in Dark Fired (as in ODF), I'm there.

Is it me or do other people get a cigarette taste after smoking butleys Daughters and Ryan Two Timer regular is 100% Burley. It can be a little cig tasting, but if smoked properly it just tastes like plain burley. I get the cig thing on about any bowl of anything that I mis-set up, like a bowl that still has some ash, smoking too hot, even picking the wrong blend after eating.

Wow, how two years fly?
I can't dig on Solani ABF in a cob with morning coffee without a little Cavendish in the mix - Just a little.
Same with Wessex Burley Slice.
Uhle's rule here, Perfection Plug, 00 and 300.
That pretty much covers all of them. Are there really others worthy?
