This leaves me speechless every time I watch it. For many reasons. But it is a powerful tribute. The terrible loss of both STS-51-L and STS-107 and their brave crews are etched in my memory. I sure hope I live long enough to see us land men on Mars.

Had the opportunity to watch a launch...then it was called Cape Canaveral...we were withing the 10 mile viewing area...the President of the United States was 50 feet away (my father was a foreign consul and we were there as guests of the Gov.)...the most amazing feeling/experience was the unbelievable sound...the roar of the engines was so loud that you could literally scream and you couldn't hear yourself doing it....it was the loudest experience I have ever encountered in my life...my whole body vibrated with the sound. If you ever get the chance to go to a shoot...do it. You will never forget that awesome roar....at 10 miles from launch pad.

I planned a vacation in Florida one year to coincide with a shuttle launch. It was postponed. I will go watch the next US manned launch, whenever we start doing that again. Space exploration, manned or unmanned will always be exciting to this kid who grew up during the Apollo days.

Not a bad song. I think I still prefer spirit of radio.

It's more the combination of the music and imagery that works for me. The song by itself is not among their best. I like "Spirit of Radio". They have a lot of material to choose from.

I like Rush. Especially Neil Peart.

I can listen to Neil Peart all day on the drums.....only a few songs that Rush preformed I enjoy. JMHO. Wish Neil didn’t retire from music, it was to soon!!!

I saw Rush in three cities, Indy, Cincy and Nashville back in the day. They were absolutely the best reproduction from studio to live of any band I saw from that particular genre.
Did anybody know Neil Peart was not the band's original drummer. Just like the Beatles, John Rutsey played drums on the debut Album "Rush" from which came the classic "Working Man."
Last time I remember Rolling Stone still rated Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham above Neil Peart as the greatest rock and roll drummer. That could probably be debated until the cows come home but it's tough to argue about the sounds both bands put out compared to other bands with basically only three musicians. Perhaps the only way either band rose to such lofty heights was with two of the best drummers who ever played respectively.

Mark, some in the music industry still rate John Bonham from Zep and Keith Moon from The Who better drummers then Neil Peart.....I wonder what they’re smoking....lmao. I’ve played the drums and have heard ALL three above mentioned drummers play live, I’d have John Bonham second to Neil Peart. Neil Peart’s mentor was the late Freddie Gruber, a phenomenal drummer who taught Neil the moves with his stix 👌👍👍. My honest opinion....right now no drummer comes close to Neil’s skill level on the drums.

Neil Peart is the only one of the three I saw live but nobody else held a candle to him.

This was fantastic, thanks for posting. I thought I knew every Rush song in existence but I don't remember ever hearing this before. God they're young in this video lol (says the guy who was 5 at the time of this launch!)
Spirit of Radio is still one of my favorite songs of all time.
