I still have some work to do on the stem. My hands can only take it so long and I have to take a break.

Nice job. I like the way you left the rim and the bit of the shank natural. Very creative....

Very nice work. Is that a Dremel you used? 🙂 Yes, I have the flex shaft attachment and it makes it easier to control and more comfortable. Have to get some other bits and see what can be done with them.

Very nicely done, Ken. Looks like you have a new hobby. Gives you a great satisfaction, doesn't it? I'm pretty happy with it. I was surprised how well it came out because I wasn't sure what I was doing and just went with it.

Thanks for the kind words. To be honest I didn't have a clue as to what I was doing. Just took a dremel and bit and ran it over the pipe. The shank end was intentional. I wanted a break between the stem and the rest of the pipe. I wrapped it with heavy foil tape to protect from a jumpy Dremel. The top of the bowl had to be topped and evened and was sanded until the dip was gone. I plugged the chamber and mortise and used a high temp paint then sanded the rim and used a high temp clear coat on it. It was a fun project and will be digging around to find the next victim.
