Saw this on pulverspriorbriar.com/index.html yesterday, and thought it touching. I'm sure some of you can relate... They sit together on the porch, the dark Almost fallen, the house behind them dark. Their supper done--only two plates now, two glasses, Two knives, two forks, two spoons--small work for two. She sits with her hands folded in her lap, At rest. He smokes his pipe. They do not speak. And when they speak at last it is to say What each one knows the other knows. They have one mind between them, now, that finally For all its knowing will not exactly know Which one goes first through the dark doorway, bidding Goodnight, and which sits on a while alone. Wendell Berry (1934--)

That's a really touching poem. Quite poignant too. Thanks for sharing it, Martin.

Martin, thanks for sharing 👍. That’s my life in a nutshell, what more can I say. Only I use the “ same “ fork, spoon and knife on a daily basis......that has not changed in the last four months!!

Personally, I like: All are lunatics, but he who can analyze his delusions is called a philosopher. Ambrose Bierce
Thanks for the break from insanity, Martin.

First an apology to Martin, but in real life he’s thinking I’ve been sleeping with that bitch so long it’s like sleeping with my sister. She’s thinking I wish that old 💩 would go belly up so I would have more Bingo money.!

Thanks Martin. Having been married to the same woman for 45 years, I can certainly relate and find comfort in Berry's words. In my mind, I hear Berry reciting the words.

Oh, you have more than one set? Just kidding. I’ve been using my Case Hobo Knife since staying at my ex’s or my daughters. Here at my ex’s I have a fork, spoon and knife in the drain board, that’s all I’ve been using here.
