There still no such thing as black ice, it's simply Clear ice on black Asphalt ...been there done that, broke my elbow in the driveway the first year after I moved North Carolina

Slipped on Friday. I almost went down but caught myself on my pickup door. Wrenched my back, though, and have hurt for 3 days now, but improving.

Brings back memories of school days. How much snow do you see a year? On average, we would maybe get 1 or 2 days when it snows, and it's normally gone by later that day. Last year we did have a big dump of snow in March (and also in 2013), which took a few days to clear, but that's about it. We get the odd skiff here and there, like some's dusted flour over the ground. That's it. |

The windchill got down to -39F last week and I still walked my dog a couple times a day. Slipped a couple times but stayed upright. It was cold. Up to 50F today pretty dramatic change.

The ice got me this morning. Walking through the parking lot at work. At least I didn't bounce my head off the asphalt this time. Sure wrenched my back, shoulder and one quad trying not to get another concussion. I hate winter. I need a pipe, but don't feel up to it. The ice got me today. I went down so quick there was nothing to do but try to ansorb the impact. Back, neck, and left hip are very sore, but my smoking apparatus is still functioning. After 50 or 60 bowls, I should mend well, lol. |

Hope you heal up fast, Mel. Pipes will help. I have had a bowl of Optimum, a bowl of Lane VBC and a bowl ( my first ever ) of John Bull. I still hurt but pipe tobacco always makes stuff better. |
