The ice got me this morning. Walking through the parking lot at work. At least I didn't bounce my head off the asphalt this time. Sure wrenched my back, shoulder and one quad trying not to get another concussion. I hate winter. I need a pipe, but don't feel up to it.

Did that once in a gas station in Maryland..got outta my van and slid on my back until I hit a brick (literally) wall...thought I might have a concussion...I probably should have had a concussion or at the least a hammer to my head for getting out in that kind of condition on the road.

Sorry to hear that, Don. Rest up with a good heating pad and get well soon. That darn black ice will sneak up on you. I tweaked my knee really good getting out of my car not long ago.

Sorry to hear about that Don. Black ice has almost killed me a couple of times. Luck or G-d saved me because there was nothing I could do.

That is a bummer Don. Black ice is bad news. Ibuprofen is your friend.

So sorry Don. Maybe confine yourself to your favorite chair with a heating pad at your back, your favorite tobacco and pipe, and three fingers of your best whiskey. Put an old classic in the DVD player and get some rest. If needed, after a couple of hours of rest, maybe a couple of Ibuprofen. Hope it turns out to be just a minor inconvenience.

It's a bitch for sure, I sympathize. I've had recurring back problems for years because of it.

Sorry to hear that, don. I hope the pain-killers are able to do their job and you haven't wrecked yourself too much. Black ice sucks.

Happy to hear you're feeling better today Don. I had it happen a couple years ago. Parked my van on a job and got out, next thing I knew I was laying on the ground and no idea how I got there. When I slipped i must have rolled my ankle because I had a hairline fracture and got concussed when I hit my head on the dumpster I was parked next to. The concussion wasn't so bad, you can't hurt what you don't have.

Sorry to hear about that. It's happened to me as well. Gas stations supermarkets, crosswalks. Worse when you're driving and hit it though. You don't know what's going to happen.

As a teenager, I broke my wrist punching another guy that earned it... six weeks later, walking across the hospital parking lot at Ft Carson, slipped on the ice and broke my fall instinctively with my free arm and broke my other wrist.
For a couple hours, I had both arms in a cast.
Glad you are on the mend, Don.

Getting really sore today. Back is really jacked. I already had an appointment with my chiropractor on Sat, so that should help. I am just glad I did not concuss myself again. I have done that too many times in my life and believe that I have some issues as a result. I worry about more serious long term problems that could manifest as I age. I wish I could undo a few car wrecks and bad falls/impacts.

Now we know you don't have to be put down, can we make fun of you? Please do, I enjoy that kind of thing. And I may tell you about the time I fought a ceiling fan with my head. It involves three blows to my cranium in a one week period.😕

My first wife took a spill down the concrete steps at our apartment. Black ice. She was hobbled up pretty good for a couple of weeks. Good thing she was only 22 at the time. I would die if it happened to me now.

Winter before last I walked out the garage at work and slipped on the ice. Broke some ribs cause of course I had my hands in my pockets cause of the cold. Came home from the doctor and wasn't thinking, tried blowing my nose and oh God all mighty. .

I saw this title and immediately thought of this wretched stuff:

Wishing you a speedy recovery Don. Living up here, the ice has sent me sprawling several times. Good luck at the Chiro.

Feeling much better now. Just got adjusted at the Chiro. He got the hitch out of my lower back and fixed my neck which was popping a little. Now, on to some lapidary work and maybe a little wood carving on the back porch.
