P&C has Brigadier Black on sale. These are some mighty fine tobaccos that started out (when I first saw them, I mean) a year and a half ago at 15.00/8oz tin. Then they went up to 18$ for said tin. Now you are 10$ over a Sutliff Bulk.
NOW IT'S ON SALE! @ 18$/tin, claiming the retail price is 20. We all know what MSRP means: The price you never pay.
P&C has done this a few times of late. I have (in fairness) seen SP do it, but in a very minor way.

You are right, David. On the plus side...B.B. Alamo is pretty good as an aro. Haven't tried the others...but still worth the $19.00 for 8 oz.
I may be wrong (usually) but I believe AJ might be selling some very shortly...and it will be aged, which surprisingly, doesn't hurt or improve it any...just leaves it still pretty good as an aro. (Didn't really add anything to this conversation, I noticed).

It probably is worth the money, but I get turned off when some sammy slams the whammy to me. I want it laid on me straight, Tate... and I hate to wait!

Over the summer they had a nice sale when you purchased the entire collection. I find them all not bad but not sure if I'll ever restock any of them. Im not saying its bad, just if I were to cellar every blend I think is "not too bad", I'd need to dedicate a whole garage to my tobacco. Im trying to only cellar what really grabs me.
With that said, if you like aromatics, then this is a good series to try. One just has to decide if this is a good sale for them or not.

Thanks, AJ...hope I didn't jump the gun...figured you'd be offering it at a better price than P&C...and you wanted to thin the cellar/vault. More I think of it...I'll take one of those tins, AJ....I'll send you a pm....and thanks...whatever the price it will be a good deal...and coming from AJ, I know it will be top quality stuff...man doesn't buy just any ol' crap...I know him all to well for that to happen.

Interesting observation. I've noticed on a few occasions that SP will post a sale on some tobacco brand, and if you go to 4 Noggins or someplace else, the SP sale price is the same as 4N regular price. Little games retailers play.

Both are really good while being different from each other...also did the two for one price (saved by the bell) and was quite happy to have both...good way to stock up on both tobaccos at the same time.

I bought a tin of Alamo when it first came out, but I I still have most of it left. I lost my taste for it when they came out with Sherman's March.

Nope. I have plenty of tins of it... I just havent opened one because I'm trying to smoke through the 50 blends I've opened or been gifted.

They should age well but whenever you open one, if our tastes are the same, you will be in for a real treat.
Also, in my opinion, Plum Pudding is good and worth having but Special Reserve is on another level of greatness. Either way, both Plum Puddings and Bengal Slices I plan to cellar deep.

I keep a tin of Bengal Slices opened at all times. It's the only tinned blend that I do that with, so far.
Thanks for that heads up though, I'll be sure I keep stock rotated.

In all fairness quite a number of P&C's tobacco blend offerings have gone up a buck or more over the last ~6-12 months. From what I can determine, it appears to be more tin related increases, though I have not been watching all of P&C's products closely enough to be sure.

I've used those deals with the Escuco/Dunhill Navy Rolls as well. Great deals. One of my favorite battles was Nightcap vs Blachouse both tins for 13.99. The problem was finding the times when both blends were in stock. Still I sure wish I would have taken greater advantage of that one.๐

I picked up 5 of those when they had it. After my first order I could never get it again. That one was a bargain for sure.

I picked up 5 of those when they had it. After my first order I could never get it again. That one was a bargain for sure. I managed about the same. If I would have known stocking would be such an issue and had the money, I would have bought at a minimum the equivalent of three pds worth probably much more (Still have to face the wife and one big order might have proved too dramatic๐.). I really enjoy both blends. With ~two pounds of Nightcap bulk in the cellar and a few tins, I should have bought more bulk if not tins... Oh no the shadow of depression is coming.....,๐ I do love Nightcap!! PS Blachouse should be available for a time. Yet, as the FDA hour approaches, who knows how long it will be until they stop Marquee production. There are allot of great blends in that series. The darkness grows thicker!!!๐ PS Marquee blends' tin price (@ P&C) went up around a buck fairly recently. I will wait for the buy 2 get 1 free promotion that they have a few times throughout the year. It appears that P&C might be cooling down a bit on major promotions. Unless I missed it, I did not see their a 10-15% off storewide pipe tobacco sale they typically have, for a brief time, at the end of January nor was their black Friday/Cyber Monday sales as good as in the past, not to mention the absence of the big February C&D sale. With such a small time frame, it is tough to say that this is telling. We will see what we will see.
