There have been a couple of threads wherein most of us are critical of today's music and miss the "good ol' days" of good music.
The truth is, every generation puts out their share of garbage. Each generation also puts out some wonderful music done by great musicians.
Maybe it's harder to find good music/musicians in today's media-savvy world where every no-talent with some computer skills can get his/her music seen and heard. Then again, maybe it's easier to find today's GOOD music because we don't have to wait for the local DJ to find it for us. It just takes patience to look through a lot of oysters to find that one pearl.
If you know of some talented musician with great songs that deserves more recognition, put them here. I'm always interested in learning more about these artists no matter the genre of music they play.
I'll start it off. Charley Crockett is somebody I think deserves a lot more recognition than he gets. I had the great joy of seeing him live recently and was blown away by the talent he and his entire band displayed. Charley also does some wonderful covers of some classic country, honky-tonk, and blues music from 50 yrs ago.
Here's a sample:

First band I thought of. 56 views on youtube for this song for example hahaha I listen to them all the time on Spotify and they still have a thousand or so plays, so I think I may be the only person who likes them.

I like this thread because it is about the performers we like as opposed to bashing the ones we don't. Don't get me wrong, there are some bad ones out there, but time will weed them out of the herd.

Lake Street Dive is another fine example of a great band that should be way more popular.
Great band. Great individual talent. Great songs.
The singer, Rachael Price, has an amazing voice.

I'm always on the look-out for good new music. I'll be revisiting this thread and checking these out.

Great thread, I’ve been struggling with this. This is another reason why the patch is a special place! Thanks everyone, I will do my best to contribute and look forward to listening. 😎

Like that smart Eastern dude said 'It is impossible to do violence without hurting oneself' Or something like that. Haha

Good Stuff. You know, a library is a really clever place to record. I bet there is no chance for feedback or harsh acoustics.

You’re not the only one now! That now makes 3 of us I'm catching up with all the other music. The blackbird caught my eye. Crows/ravens are my favorite. I even have a whole flock of them tattooed down my ribs.

Don, he comes through Colorado quite often. I believe there is a pretty good bluegrass scene in the mountains. I've always wanted to go to Telluride for their bluegrass festival. Have you been?

Great thread, @blackmouth.
This one blew me away - not often these days that a video is as good and powerful as the song.

I’ve been on a bit of a bluegrass and folk kick, came across Colter Wall. This song came out the end of ‘17, I think. I find it dark, but beautiful, and sad. The way it builds is great. Love the guys voice.
