Wild Atlantic is a mild English. The Latakia makes its presence known but in a very subtle way. The Virginia gives a nice mild hay flavor. No one component overpowers the others. I would have liked a little more Latakia, but this is good. A good blend as an introduction to English blends or as a change from heavier blends.

I happen to like Wild Atlantic a lot. I'm not sure if it's the orientals they use in it, but I love the smell if it. Nice mild smoke, too.

Wild Atlantic is a great mild blend thats not complicated but its not too simple either. You can take a moment to examine the smoking experience and then take another moment to let it all be.

I think of Mild English's as all day smokes. Someone else had noted Wild Atlantic on another thread. It's definitely one I'm going to check out.

It irks me that Peterson pouch tobacco is underweight at 40 grams and about 15% higher in price.

Really good for a beginning pipe smoker, nice mild English blend. I tried it an have since purchased some more, wish I'd know about that sale at Payless though!

Hahha I just watched the review a couple days back with the guy from SmokingPipes reviewing Presby. I had no idea it was a debate as whether it contained Latakia. As soon as I cracked the tin, I knew it had the black stuff. It is very subdued in the taste though. Great blend.

I definitely detect Latakia in Presbyterian. ESPECIALLY in McWiggins' presby plug.

That was pretty common when I worked for a meat company with our beef....Whole Strips, 109 Ribs, 112 ribeyes, etc...

I tried it awhile ago. It's not bad, but Arango Balkan Supreme is much better!

WILD Atlantic isn't DRY from the pouch, but it may make up for the weight in volume.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the definition... They used to have their tobacco in jars where you could purchase as much as you want from this 'bulk'. It wasn't any cheaper doing so. That might be different to what you're talking about.

My understanding is that all tobaccos sold in the EU come in a tin...I know that hasn't always been the case in the past.

My understanding is that all tobaccos sold in the EU come in a tin...I know that hasn't always been the case in the past. perhaps that's why the peterson shop stopped their bulk. The UK might be slightly different. Certainly the prices are cheaper than southern Ireland, but my b&m still has a few jars of tobacco that is weighted to order. Also, in online retailers you can also weigh to order.
