Please forgive me, brothers....I "like" each one of you...even some that are fractious....I'm old I can't remember to "like" each post or for that matter most of them.
I even put a note on my laptop...did no good except to stick tiny bits of stickum over the camera "port"....so please forgive me if I don't seem to like each and everyone of you...I do...I'm just forgetful.

to me, Walt a true "good guy", always mentions bests concerning me wife's health issues.
that being said, IF I ever screw up & post anything negative about enybody...please take my apologies ahead of time.
OK "old" Walt! Now if ya can beat 12/29/40, I concede my seniority! Heh Heh

Walt is a great friend. He is not the type to deliberately slight some one. He is totally honest and trustworthy and cares for his friends and acquaintances.
Walt you’re not alone in this. In my oft distracted life I too forget to hit the “Like” button. Given my age I hope the rest of the members just chalk it up to an old man being forgetful.

I'm the opposite...I think I 'like' a little too much that it's lost its meaning. I'm trying to do better.

I'm the opposite...I think I 'like' a little too much that it's lost its meaning. I'm trying to do better. Thanks, all...that, too, has been my impression....when I remember, I wind up liking everybody and then...why did I bother...it lost its' meaning. I like the idea of the "like" button...but like ol Ed and AJ and the rest of us old folk...I just forget and then try to go back and hit the like button and bang...I've liked everybody...except when we get fractious. We are who we are...nobody is gonna change us and considering the number of us, we do a pretty good job of not antagonizing Sparks and the mods...but when we do...Oh, me...it becomes a real mess. On another note, I've sent a pm to Justin (Sparks) as to how to do a fair and good raffle to support the Patch...a number of you, and I won't mention names, have offered to put up something (tobacco, pipes, accessories) to raffle off with the intention of supporting (donations) to help Sparks carry us on his back as he does. He has enough in his life and doesn't need to carry this load (us and the website) by himself...so, soon as he gets back to me...I'll try to contact each of you that has offered and try to get donations going...to support the Patch and let Sparks know that we really do care and are not just a bunch of hot heads starting fires all over the threads. I'm not an organizer...I'm only a member...I'm simply an old man who recognizes what a great place this is...I can't do much more than "bump" a thread for ya. Those who have something to raffle/auction off will have to carry the load so to speak...you'll have to open a thread and tell folks what you have and how long they have to "win" whatever it is you are raffling/auctioning...you'll have to foot the bill for tracking postage and I'm sure that Sparks will let you know who the winner is once he knows...so stay tuned....and Thanks...you all are great people...truly special....love the one you are with...and love each other, too.

I think the "like" feature is a good one, because it reminds us that our posts doesn't just go out into the ether and that someone actually read it and well, liked it. I'd rather a post be "liked" because it was actually liked rather than some extreme form of egalitarianism.

I mark forum posts, but have stopped marking WAYS, as I have to squint too much there, but I do read them.

This is a good point. If there are things we can do as Patch members to support the Patch, let us know. I would certainly be supportive. This is a wonderful place to go to be among pipe enthusiasts. If we can make it better, count me in.

Waiting to hear from Sparks on how to do a raffle that wouldn't drive him nutz. When he tells me I'll do a post/thread to let you know....meanwhile I'll contact those who already said they would be helpful and put up something to raffle on.

Are you kidding me Walt? If you comment on one of my posts I consider that worth multiple likes because you took the time to respond. It's always nice to get advise or a word of encouragement from you and many of the members. I've been guilty of not hitting the like button on a lot of posts lately because I read through them and think I'll go back later and forget to.

I can't keep up with with reading everything. If I do read it and I am not put off, I "like" it. So if I didn't like your post just assume that I didn't read it.

Walt, as said before......No need in being sorry. I like it when people "LIKE" my posts but, don't live my life on it. I "like" others posts from time to time and sometimes I don't, has nothing to do with me liking them or what they said, its just sometimes I don't think about it and that I didn't read it. So don't let it worry you and be glad there aint a "Dislike" button. No that doesn't mean anything about you but, it may open a can or worms for others.

Nothing to worry about, buddy. You’re the best in my book.
I lurk a lot on the forum but I don’t post as much as I like. Sometimes there isn’t enough hours in the day,

I don't "like", a lot of posts that I do like...when I do "like" a post, it is usually because I have more time to kill....I don't have all the time that many of you buzzards do....some buzzards rarely "like" any of my posts, but I don't read anything into that.
