Meet Fibi.....my ex’s Yorkie.....now sleeps with me most of the time. I’ve been her care giver for the past 5 months. Poor thing.....suffers from allergies like me. Before moving to NC I never suffered from allergies. It’s those Bradford Pear Trees all over the State that started my issues......one of my doctors explained it to me.

Lacy is in that exact position at the moment.

Fibi is having the time of her life! Wish we could all have that kind of rest.

Apartment life does not allow a dog right now; hopefully in the near future though.
Dogs I have known:
Golden Retrievers Great Dane Chesapeake Bay Retriever Newfoundland Australian Shepherd Collie x Golden Retriever mix
all great dogs
If I am lucky enough to be able to have another dog I think I would go with a Golden Retriever or an Australian Shepherd.

Wild dog walks up to campfire in prehistoric times. Cave man throws leftover roasted bone at wild dog. Wild dog eats the bone and proclaims it the best thing he ever tasted and the dog has been mans best friend ever since.

This a 15 lb poodle after all.

This is Kizzy, our Rat Terrier / Chihuahua mix. She thinks her purpose on earth is to guard our house like a little soldier. Seriously, you have to see her marching around the perimeter of our yard a dozen times a day looking for anything out of the ordinary to fully appreciate it. Besides Kizzy, I have also had a "mostly black lab" and a few other little mutts that were somewhat difficult to categorize but not too difficult to love.

Kizzy is a doll! Lot of expression in that face...Darin's dogs are great looking "kids" also...love me some dogs, much more so than humans. Dogs will never lie to ya...may not always fess up to it, but never lie!

Not having a good day, it’s one of those days I sit back and look at many pictures from my past. I find it really lifts my spirits. My Lab Ringo and Snoopy the ferret. Both had full freedom of roaming my property. Ringo always watched over Snoopy. They slept together most of the time. Snoopy never had a foul odor, he was fixed and bathed twice a week. Snoopy was litter box trained indoors like a cat. Ringo lived for almost 15 years and snoopy almost 12....I miss them both.

Ringo and Snoopy look like soulmates...and I'm sure they felt it too.

Ahhhh... I love pics of dogs. The ferret is cool as well, I've wanted one since I was 12. In some States it’s now illegal to own a ferret. They make great pets if purchased young. Never get an older “ bronk “. Many years ago I was given a ferret that was a notorious biter, I thought I broke that habit until one day he bit threw my thumb until he hit bone. He refused to release, I had no choice but to snap his neck. I’ve never been bitten by any of my ferrets that I brought up bottle fed. When you call their name they respond, better than most cats. Highly intelligent and very trainable.

That's 3 times better than the oldest one I've ever known.. nice! Great pic too, they sure look like best buds.

They were inseparable, they both enjoyed camping. Those were some good ole days for sure👍

I'm impressed by your ferret experience, Ted. Mine have always been rescues, except for the last one which was an American Eskimo Spitz. She lived to 16 years. She was a hunter. She'd get out of the house at night and go hunting raccoons. She was the victor in every encounter. But that probably had something to do with the breed being part wild Norwegian wolf.

Information about ferrets found with a simple Google search..............
“ Ferrets have a life span of 8 - 12 years, occasionally a bit longer. Unfortunately a small group of all-to-common diseases shorten the lives of many ferrets. Getting Their Home Ready: Setting up a ferret-friendly home is quite different than arranging for a family dog, cat or new toddler “.
